Is there a protein bar that's good and low in fat & sugar?

Don't worry about fat. Fat doesn't make you fat--sugar and carbs are the enemy for weight gain. I really want to like the Quest bars but they have a weird metallic taste to me:( The Mission 1 bars taste a lot better to me!

Why are you worried about fat?
When making up a food you have only 3 options, fat, carbs, and protein. Typically when you lower the carbs you will have to up the fat. Which is a good thing. In pretty much all obese people we have a bad insulin (and then therefor a bad leptin) response to carbs. Fats are no problem. They make you feel satisfied and full. Provide a longer burning energy so you don't get that spike.
It is relatively easy to lose weight on a high fat diet. Far easier than on a high carb one.

So far 80 pounds lost!
Worry about sugar and sugar alcohols in protein bars, not fat. And worry about the ratio of calories to protein. Many have way too little protein, and way to many calories.
The only brand that fits the bill for me, and tastes good, are Quest. I prefer the chocolate brownie, slightly warmed up.

I started gaining weight when I introduced protein bars into my diet. They were like candy bars to me. High protein candy bars. Specially quest bars. But most people can have a bar here and there and do fine. It was not me. For me protein bars =weight gain.
Now I use low sugar jerky or some nuts as my "to go snack". Nuts are great - but they pack a lot of calories in a small volume. So be careful with that. I use lower carbs nuts as my snack.

I like to make "cookies" out of the Quest bars... better portion control 8 cookies from 1 bar and 2 are a nice serving for me. They travel well in a snack bag.

It's also a great way to save Quest bars that have gotten a little hard/older.
