What's on your Sunday menu, RNYers?
on 11/27/16 4:40 am
Good morning! Yesterday was a nice fun, lazy day. We did get up the Christmas tree and I did some more unpacking, but it was a nice way to relax after the holiday. Today we are back at it--heading back to my condo to try to finish the packing and work on some of the renovations that I am trying to do before putting it on the rental market.
Ok, random question today, but what are your incisions looking like, these days? I am "keloid" which means my scars heal all ropy and big. I'm 1.5 years out from RNY and 6 years out from Lapband, and my scars are still very visible. Lately I've been having some weird allergies (still unidentified) that are making my skin itchy. They really seems to affect my incisions the most, so they feel raised and itchy and are bothering me. Especially the big one whe the band was removed, and the 1/2" one that is to the left of my belly button.
My menu is up in the air a bit because I am not sure how long we'll be at my house. But I am confident that they'll be a LOT of turkey! We need to get rid of the desserts, because I snacked on a few cookies and ate a 1/2 slice of truffle cake yesterday. Grim was bold enough to throw away the rest of the mashed potatoes this morning! I need to follow his shining example and throw out the desserts. But we were waiting for his daughter to come back and take some. She has until the end of the day...!
Have a great day, everyone :)
Morning everyone!
yesterday was fun. We did an escape room with friends and escaped with 13 minutes to spare ! Then the 6 of us went for sushi. It was an all you can eat type place. Not really worth it for me, but there were plenty of wls friendly choices. Chicken skewers, beef tataki, sashimi, and crab wrapped in bacon, are things I tried. There were plenty other things too. today we're off to see the holiday train, and hopefully get our lights up since it's such a mild day. And watch the grey cup!
qotd: I'm nearing 3 months post. My scars are healing nicely. A couple are still purple-ish, the rest are turning pink. I'm just one of the lucky ones whose skin heals well.
Menu:
B:skyr yogurt with bran buds
L: tbd
D:tbd
Lunch and dinner will depend on when we head out today. I'll pack some wls friendly food just in case. one thing I've realized when I don't have a clear plan for my menu, is I tend to under eat, rather than over. Now, that's something I've never said in my life! But I tend to get a bit tired and sluggish when that happens, so I need to plan better. Get into the habit of using MFP throughout the day, rather than just morning and night might help.
have a great Sunday everyone!

Escape the room is so fun, but I have never been on a winning team! Next time....!
They are so fun! We were so shocked we had so much time left. I was looking for another lock because the only one left said final lock haha. Then we were sure it was a trick and that it would actually lead us to another room. We've escaped a couple, but some, it hasn't even been close.

Morning! I'm home- had a nice time in SC with my family-- but it's always nice to be home. I weighed today for the first time in a few days since I didn't have access to a scale. It says I'm up 6.1#'s. Seriously-- wtf? Out of desperation I checked my measurements
-- they are unchanged. Water weight maybe? Ugh. In retrospect the biggest things I'd change about the last few days is 1) not having my food scale with me and 2) limiting to just one of the desserts that was there. Should have would haves.. blah blah...Focus now is to just get it back to where I was.
While I typically keloid- I didn't from any of my surgery scars. The one that Can be noticed the most is the one above my belly button- it's sort of dimpled in and makes it look like I have two belly buttons. The other prominent scar looks like I was stabbed with a fillet knife- it's perfectly straight and about a 1/4-1/2" wide.
Todays plan is laundry, and prepping for the week. Probably will take down the fall decorations but I know I'm not tackling Christmas stuff till next weekend.

Ack! I'm sure you didn't eat 20,000 extra calories when you were away.... it will come off in a couple of days. Back on the saddle.... ...... I am speaking that to myself as well.... I am leaving on Wednesday for my son's and trying to figure how I can fit my scale in my carry-on...LOL Who needs clothes and shoes...I need to stay on track for the holidays...and I am not talking food scale. They are so normal they don't own a scale, or weigh themselves. Who are these aliens in my family???

Lol-- I've been thinking next trip I have to find a way to pack my scale :-) I toyed with bringing it this time- but last time I did that I had trouble getting the wifi reset correctly (this is the scale that's linked to the study I'm in).
Normal people- I hear rumor of them- not sure I've met one yet LOL.

That's so frustrating. Keep us updated about how it comes off--I bet it will be quick! I had a bunch of little bites of crap here and there all weekend and actually lost .2, but I think I owe that to staying home this weekend. I bet if I was traveling, it would have been completely different.
Lazy day yesterday, I watched the rest of the Gilmore Girls.
My scars have healed real well, a couple of them aren't even pink any more, just lines the color of my skin.
