surgery was Tuesday morning. I think I was in denial about how painful this would be. My daughter reminded me that they rearranged my guts and that it's going to hurt!

When did things get dramatically better as far as pain. I am about to ge****er in. Yesterday was 48 ounces and 30grams of protein.

I had had some serious buyers remorse Wednesday.

By three days later I had no pain.  Follow the rules and take it easy.  Call your doctor if it's not gone soon!

Maddy I am wearing a stomach binder which helps with getting up and down and coughing! I also am laying here with a heating pad across my tummy! I asked the nurse and she said it was fine to use it and it feels good!

My surgery was Monday. Last night was pretty bad for pain and i just felt crappy but let me tell you...one bowel movement later and i feel like a new woman lol. Definitely try a ho****er bottle on your tummy. Really helps me.

I had a lot of pain in the beginning.  Finally someone here recommended an abdominal binder and that helped SO much.  I wore it 24/7 for several weeks until one day I just sid not need it.  I also used my pain pills sparingly for three weeks, mostly at night after the first week.  But you are very early out.  I also used liquid tylenol twice a day.

Take it easy, don't overdo, and try really hard to get your water in.  Congratulations on being through it!  Losing the weight makes it all worthwhile.

Hospitals used to send you home with the abdominal binder.  Then they stopped as a cost-saving measure.  I got one from a health supply store and my insurance paid for it.  It will really help with the pain, as well as making it easier to walk and keep the back pain away.

The first week post-op I took my pain meds as often as allowed to keep the pain at bay. If you wait, it is hard to get it back under control. On pain meds, my pain was about a 3. The second week I transitioned to Tylenol during the day and prescription pain meds at night. By the end of week 2, my pain was gone and I went back to work. It does get better.

Congratulations a completing what seems like the first part of this journey... You will look back at these days and not regret them. Take your pain meds and keep moving.
