Hi friends! Happy Thanksgiving! We have a small crowd coming today. Only 6 of us total, and 3 out of 6 have had bypass (!!), so we probably didn't need to cook anything, but like good, fat Americans, we have enough here to feed the city.
I'm not worried about what's going to go on my plate today. I'll do mostly turkey with dots of mashed potatoes, cranberry jello mold (yummiest thing ever) and veggies. I'll do dots of the desserts, too. But it's only 11am and I already have eaten little bites of everything all morning. It's those little snacky bites that get ya!
So grateful you you all--my menu friends! Thanks for all your daily encouragement and inspiration. I hope you have a great day!

Happy Thanksgiving! Made a sugar free jello mold with sf jello, sf cranberry drink, celery and cream cheese. So yummy. And I forgot to log it.
Morning menu buddies, and Happy Thanksgiving to all the USA'ers, and happy Thursday to everyone else.
I am going over to my brother's house for dinner. It is a 30+ crowd and he is the only one with a house that can accommodate all of us at a super long table. I'm bringing roasted carrots, and a Brussels sprouts, butternut squash, bacon, dried cranberry and pecan dish. And because I am an overachiever (I prefer that as opposed to damaged), I am also bringing two kinds of deviled eggs (crab and truffles. They had fresh truffles at the farmer's mkt), Chex mix and 2 apple crostatas. I will only eat turkey and veggies. Maybe a spoon full of stuffing, but that stuff is my kryptonite, so better for me to stay far, far away. I will likely have a sliver of the apple crostata, because I've never made it before and want to see how it turned out. Luckily, sweets aren't a trigger for me.
QOTD: I use Colgate Optic White and an electric Sonicare tooth brush. I was a manual toothbrush user until about 8 months ago. My dental hygienist talked me into getting an electric brush, and I love it. Why did I wait so long?

Hi everyone,
I need to start getting better at planning my meals so that I'm prepared for surgery.
As for the QOTD- I have a Colgate 360 and I do really like it but I want to get an electric one - haven't decided which kind. I'm a Melaleuca customer so I use the Melaleuca toothhpaste. I love it and so do my boys but DH and DD do not like it at all. For them I always buy Colgate and it has to be a gel, not a paste. I prefer Colgate to Crest also.
I received some news this week that my center is working with another center to clear their backlog. I see the surgeon on Jan 6, 2017, and they were saying it was going to take 3-4 months for surgery after that. I'm hoping to go to the other center, because even though it's further from our house, it's not downtown Toronto, and we have family near there where DH can stay. He never drives downtown unless I'm navigating, and he's a little stressed about that. He's already stressed about the surgery, so it would be really nice to have this reprieve. I'd really love it if this meant that I could get in to see the surgeon sooner as well, but I will take what I can get.
Happy Thanksgiving to my American OHers!
