Good morning Menu Friends. How is everyone?  I am okay...so I will get right into it, got the lab results from the Vet yesterday afternoon, Amy's lump is a cancerous tumor. Bad news, good news story... Vet said she was able to cut out the whole Tumor and got all the cancer, the Vet did go deeper and wider than she needed and the pathology results showed she got all the tumor. Vet said because we caught it so early and brought her in so quick that's why it has not spread. So she does not need any more interventions and we just have too keep our eyes open for new lumps/spots. It unfortunately can come back but for now she is good. She is healing amazing and is back to her old self, but she clearly does not know she has two incisions healing because she tried to chase a squirrel yesterday, oh the life of a dog! Ha ha So hubby and I are sad the lump is cancerous but relieved that the Vet got it!  Fingers crossed this is the end of that!

QOTD: What kind of phone do you have and have you been accused of being "addicted to your phone?"  I have an iPhone 5S. I got it a month after my surgery so December 2013. I have an Otterbox "Defender" series case on it and last week I had to go to the Apple Store to have them look at my battery as it was not charging. I took my phone out of the Otterbox and the tech was blown away at what amazing shape my phone is in, not a scratch, nick, bump, nothing!! It looks brand new. He could not believe it's a 3 yr old phone. Gotta love Otterbox!! I got a brand new battery and my phone is perfect now! Hubby has accused me on multiple occasions of being "addicted" to my phone. So recently I have been making a conscious effort to put my phone down more and "pay attention to whoever I am with and when at a restaurant to not "check it" every two seconds!."  But I love my phone! Ha ha ha

So glad they got all the cancer, poor baby, hope she mends well and fast.

Don't laugh at me but I don't own a cell phone, my husband bought one for me a few years ago and I used it exactly once in 1 year, so it is not something that I need. He has one and barely ever uses it. My daughter's face is in her phone most of the time...lol

Sorry Daisy about Amy but I'm SO GLAD the vet got all the ickiness out of her!!!

Last night was support group- the advanced one. We mostly just talked about ways to cope with thanksgiving and the holidays versus a speaker yacking at us. there were only 4 of us so we actually got to talk about our feelings. it was good.

I've been getting burning in my chest (acid) at night lately and in the AM- sleeping with pillow propped up 45 degrees. Not sure if it is the decaf or the yogurt I'm eating in the evening maybe a combo of both- I'm going to try less decaf more tea today to see if it makes a difference.

Getting food started for thanksgiving piece by piece. Will go get veggies tomm so they are really fresh. made sweet potato for the pie and corn bread for part of the dressing.

QOTD:yes ive been told that also- i try to leave it down if I'm out and about with DH or company because it ****** me off when people are looking at their phone when you are their company. I do listen to my books on my audible app so having ear plugs in listening to my book when DH wants to talk to me annoys him more.

yesterday i went slightly over my calories 802/101 prot/63 carbs ( i had both a protein muffin and a protein bar because I was away from home and needed something to eat)

B: egg whites/leftover roast/tea/miralax/cm milk

S: swai leftover

L: swai/veg

D: not sure yet :)

I'm so glad to hear that the vet got all the cancer!!!  Now - fingers crossed that it never comes back!!  (and of course, there's always the chance it won't!)

QOTD:   I have a Samsung Galaxy 5.  I love it for looking up quick things or for logging my food if I'm out and about, but it's hard (for me) to work on something so small, so I'm really not addicted to it as I can't stay on it for more than a few minutes at a pop.  My laptop is another story, though....

17 months out:

B:  plain Greek yogurt with homemade blackberry sauce (blackberries + SF Torani syrup)

S:  coffee with half & half, protein shake

L:   I think chicken/pear/pecan salad

D:  chicken fajita (just the meat & veggies)

probably another Greek yogurt or frozen protein pumpkin pop

they're these homemade "popsicles" I made a while ago (I usually make homemade "fudgesicles", but I wanted to try something different and fall-y this time).  I used SF/FF vanilla pudding, unsweetened cashew milk, protein powder, some canned pumpkin, and a little Splenda and vanilla to taste - as well as some pumpkin pie spice.   I used less liquid than the instructions called for since I had canned pumpkin in there.  Then I just poured it in popsicle molds and....voila!

note I edited this and added protein powder to my list - left that out the first time.  I think I put the unflavored kind in there - but you could also use vanilla protein powder  (and possible cut the vanilla extract if you do...)
