Sweet tooth

I am only 10 weeks out but I have found several temporary solutions... I have a new ice cream maker which is great (Eggface blog has many recipes) but I recently discovered a quic****cream-like treat:

3 cups raspberries (frozen)

2 cups plain ff greek yogurt

truvia or other sweetener to taste

Blend this all in a food processor or blender.  It will become quite thick, you can eat it like soft serve, or freeze it (it will be hard then)

I also like the Premier Protein pudding with chia seeds (you can google it).  I have a LOT of the sugar free Torani syrups that I use with my coffee and usually a heated-up Premier Protein drink.  This gives you protein and a sweet fix.  Also sugar free jello, you get your liquid in and a sweet fix.

Good luck!  It is sometimes a hard journey but so exciting to finally be losing the weight!

It has helped me to move off the Splenda and go to Stevia. For some reason the Splenda (and all artificial sweeteners other than Stevia) trigger something in me. And with the Stevia only, I found I could wean myself down to just a little bit in my decaf coffee and perhaps a couple of drops (or half a pack) on my plain yogurt (I make my own and if I want greek style, I strain it). I also use real fruit in my yogurt like frozen blue berries or frozen strawberries. I found that mango and peaches are too sweet and make me feel sickly.

On days when I just want to feel sort of like a normal person (the grandkids are over and eating sugary stuff), I can eat one slice of dried banana (I did dry them myself so there is no added sugar) and nibble it like I'm a squirrel. It is so like eating a piece of candy.

I also cut up a pumpkin into small bits and tossed it with Stevia, cinnamon and nutmeg and all spice and then dried it. High fiber, no sugar, and very chewy.

Now, I should say that a friend of mine also found that Stevia was a trigger for her to crave more sweets... so it may not be the magic answer either. But might be worth trying to wean yourself.

For me I have found that having enough water will quiet the craving.  Try drinking more and waiting 30 minutes.  If it comes back, make sure that if you do have anything sweet it is a good protein source.  I really love the Enlighten ice cream bars.

It has enough protein to balance out the calories and fairly low sugar.  For me, they work.
