I deactivated my account a few weeks back. Was it a good idea? Not really. A time out may have been more adult. I wasn't mad at anyone. I was just stressed. Life can be very stressful. Sometimes it is just petty but it can be very trying on the mind.

The vets are the ones *****ally helped me. People will see hags and think they are some type of horrible people. They are not. They reached out to me when they saw that I was not active on the forums.

I deal with addiction to food and alcohol.  I am 8 months sober. I never thought that I could be sober even for a day. Of course there are other things that are not worth mentioning at this time.

We all have strong personalities and really need to come together and be a strong group working to not only lose weight but to keep people educated on WLS. I have been so parties and I just love the eye rolls and the horrible stories. I used to get upset. Now I just want them to shut the F up.

Some arguments are best to walk away from. People will not always see it our way.

There are a lot of great people not just vets but newbies who help support each other.

We all may not like each other but respect is important.

I am not one of those lets hold hands and sing together. I just need peace. Finding it is an amazing thing.

This time of year can be stressful just because of "this time of year". Throw in food and any other addiction is over the top. I love this forum people are so helpful and give tough love when necessary. But knowing where the advice comes from is real, we all are fighting the same battle. ?

I am usually very upbeat but got depressed after the election.  I have probably lost a few friends and that is their choice to be insulted when I point out the stupidity of their ways.

I am regrouping and doing what I can to protest and try to be a kinder person myself, without surrendering my beliefs.

When I was 18 I got a clerical job at a machine shop.  They had a computer that was used to stamp out parts for airplanes.  The programmer showed me how to read the blueprints and write the computer code in an old assembler type language.

When he left, I was offered the job.  They told me that they were thrilled to have me do the work, because they no longer had to pay a man's wages for it.  Women at that company made exactly 50% less than men for the same job.  It was 1966.

Later the machinery was upgraded and they needed to send the programmer to school to learn the new coding.  They decided it would be foolish to waste money training a woman and they hired a man off the street to learn the job.

I know how women were regarded and I will fight as long as I live to see fair treatment for women.

it is normal to get depressed and withdraw, but it is so great to see you back.

Nice to read your post.   I also backed out for a while, from the daily menu posts  and most posting, because of my shock at election results and also problems with my poor puppy, who had surgery and did not do very well. I do miss the people here though, including you!  Glad you came back.

Hey! I just really want to encourage you in the midst of the stress.

You probably don't know me at all, but I've been lurking on the boards before I joined, and I would scroll way back on the pages and read all the posts. I always read yours and read your comments. You're mix of honesty, compassion, vulnerability, and perseverance has been an immense inspiration to me.

Truly.

Welcome back, Susan!  I am SO glad to see you back.  I know life can seem tough and even overwhelming at times.  But you manage to overcome your difficulties one step at a time, and I am impressed how you continue to look on the bright side and put one foot in front of another.  Please don't let extraneous and external noise impact your success at battling food and alcohol addiction.  You are strong!  Be well :)  Em
