You are in the home stretch now of surgery next week, I am so thrilled for you! I love your photo, you are so beautiful!
I literally laughed out loud at your "there is too much blood in my coffee stream," I feel this often as well LOL LOL LOL
this has to be quick because I'm supposed to be working (I'm at a coffee shop with my laptop)
17 months out:
B: L&F toasted coconut vanilla Greek yogurt topped with 10 raspberries and 1 T Kashi Crunch granola
S: coffee with half & half, skinny iced protein/pumpkin/Miralax latte
L: I'm the guest speaker at a pre-op class today at 11:30, and I'm planting myself at a coffee shop again this afternoon, so I may just eat a protein bar before the class
D: chicken/pear/pecan salad (need to eat this before it rots!!)
probably another Greek yogurt later on
Not a whole lot going on this weekend. Sunday I'm having pictures done of my kiddos. It's been a while so I'm anxious to see how they turn out.
QOTD: I LOVE shark week and I am obsessed with them. I live near the water and most of our family outings have something to do with the ocean like going to the beach, fishing, riding jet skis, boating. My family has a vacation house on the water. As far as an animal I would want to be, I have no clue! I think dogs have got the life but that is too close to humans. If I was an animal I would be free like a dolphin/porpoise or eagle or a wild mustang.
My photo(s) of the day are of my son who caught a shark on the beach (common around here) and of my Husband. I am so prod of him. One picture is a selfie he took when he was a volunteer Chef for the March Of Dimes event. They liked him so much they asked him to come back for an interview. He got the job!! He works for the Revention Music Center downtown Houston. He is cooking for the VIP sections at concerts and also for the celebrities that perform there! How cool is that?!! I also included a pic of his upcoming schedule. Blue October! Weezer! I am so proud of my husband for perusing his dream. He is a vet and struggles daily with PTSD so jobs have not been easy for him. He has about another year of Culinary school before he opens up a restaurant.

How did the photos with the kiddos go? Have you got the proofs yet? I love the pic of your son with the Shark, and that's "common" where you are? That's amazing!!! I am so jealous you are so close to the water and have access to the ocean whenever, what a treat!
I love that your husband is a Chef and that he works at such a wonderful place and its wonderful that he is pursuing his dream of being a Chef and eventually opening a restaurant all while dealing with PTSD, Congrats to your hubby, that is just wonderful! Oh what kind of restaurant? We will have to have an OH meet up when its open LOL LOL
The pictures went pretty good. It was a friend that wanted to do it for practice. She's not a professional, this is more of a hobby. I will post a few when she sends them. She sent some sneak peaks. There are some really good ones. Of course I don't like the ones with me but I won't let that bother me. I'm done doing that.
As far as the type of restaurant, he is figuring it all out now. He is amazing at BBQ but we have so much Mexican influence down here that it's going to be a BBQ Mexican fusion with some cajun influences. For example his menu will have brisket, ribs, & pulled pork but there will be tacos & nachos and other dishes made with the bbq meat and we are working on a bbq type tamale. He will also have some things like cajun grilled shrimp, cajun smoked chicken, maybe some crawfish when it's in season.
Happy Friday friends! We made it to the weekend!! Wheee!
I am still sore and get exhausted easily but my surgery is healing really well. The incisions are already looking more like scars than cuts and they appear to be healing smooth and thin. I'm really pleased.
My photo for today...me this morning. I have to say now that I am healing up and feeling mostly human I can actually SEE that I look fit and healthy. Up until this point I knew logically that I was smaller and doing well but now I can see it. KNow what I mean? I think my head is finally catching up. Also....geezzz...boobs much? LOL
QOTD: I would be an opossum. They are fiercely protective of their babies which they can carry around on their backs. They are independent, no hippies have to try to save them. They can stay up all night and sleep whenever they feel like it. Plus... cute!!
Menu: B: Chobani Simply 100 "Crunch", L: Left over ham steak, D: Unknown...going out shopping for groceries for Thanksgiving with our friends we will be sharing the holiday with. They want me to tag along even though they are cooking at their house so that I can make sure there are things I can eat. So sweet! We will eat dinner while we are out I expect.
Edit: Still 125 this morning. Holding steady!
Stay warm, safe, and healthy!
