First of all, congratulations! I'm 3 weeks out right now, and even though I'm stalling (?) I couldn't be happier!

The thing that stuck out to me on your post at home was your 3 year old. I myself have a 17 month old to care for, and to tell you the truth, I absolutely cannot do it alone. This is my first child, so I can't say for certain, but I can't imagine being able to care for a 3 year old on my own post op either. I hope you will have almost constant help. You cannot lift anything over 10 pounds for six weeks.. meaning you can't lift your baby! This has easily been the hardest part of surgery for me.

In the hospital, all I did was sleep, walk, drink. Watch a little TV. The only thing I used from home was headphones to block out the hospital noise and rest.

At home, or post operatively in general, I have found using a weekly pill organizer key to managing and taking my vitamins.

Beyond that, it's all personal effort! I'm sure you are motivated- you have a little one to get healthy for! Cheers momma.

Yes, my three year old is a major concern.  I also have a 9 and 7 year old.  My husband is taking the week following my surgery off and my mother in law is going to keep the children during the day for the second two weeks.  Would you say you are able to care for your little one (aside from lifting him/her) now or do you still need help?  I don't have to pick my guy up anymore, but I do still have to do a lot of things for him and he tends to climb on me.

How many compartments per day does your pill organizer have?  I  have one now, but it only has one box per day and I'm thinking I might need a larger one post surgery.

Thank you!

Susan

Mine has 4 compartments per day. They are fairly large compartments as well, because the supplements you take can be large. I bought it on amazon prime and I love it.

Honestly, I would be scared to be alone with my toddler, forgetting the lifting part. Although bending now is fine, I find myself much more tired then usual because of the crazy adjustment, and getting used to the new schedule of eating, pill taking, and drinking. But I hope it is doable for you. A three year old may be more manageable then my 18 month old lol.
