When they were diagnosing my dog's torn ligament in his knee they wanted to do an xray.  They told me it would be better if they sedate him.  They said they would use the lightest sedation possible and that it would last for approx 45 minutes.  I had my mother with me, so we left nikolai, went to get something for dinner and came back to pick him up (It was a late emergency appt.)  It was about 11 when we picked him up.  He was not even close to being awake.  I had to have a tech pick him up and put him in my car.  We drove around for a while waiting for the anesthesia to wear off.  I finally had to go home because I was going on a business trip the next morning and had a 7 a.m. flight.  I had to leave Nikolai and my mother in my car because we couldn't get him out of the car.  Around 3 a.m. he woke up like nothing had happened and was ready to come inside.

OMG what a sweet mom to wait with him!  Our vet wouldn't let Chloe leave until she was "up" so they got her in the carrier and we brought her home.  When we opened up the carrier she stumbled out sideways and peed on herself, and then dragged herself behind a bunch of boxes in storage and glared.  She was out of it for an entire day, poor thing :(  I swear though, for a week I was convinced she would never love me again.  Thankfully she forgave me!  You're lucky Nikolai didn't hold it against you!  Though he just got an X-ray and not surgery, so maybe that made all the difference :)

Oh, Nikolai is my $15,000 dog (plus a little more).  He's had 2 knee surgeries.  And trust me, he holds a grudge.

Hello Everyone,

I'm glad Amy is recovering and I'll hope the results are good.

Good morning.   Was so happy to see Amy home and on the mend! Is Oliver being super nice to her??  Late post (as per usual) for me, but I had court this morning.  DQOTD - We used to watch The Cosby Show and Family Ties.

Court days are always bad food days, since I never know how long I'm going to be there.  Anyway, here's the plan:

B: Hard boiled egg, latte with 4oz fairlife milk (this will have to go when I do the all dense protein experiment)

L: Chicken Thigh meat (3.67 oz) and 1/4 cup beans (I may eliminate these since I'm trying to go all protein all the time)

D: Shrimp sauteed in olive oil

S: sliced turkey, hard boiled egg if needed (I brought two for breakfast, but apparently am having a small pouch day)

Totals: Cal. 666 (without extra egg); Protein: 78g; Fat: 31g; Carbs: 11g (this is waaaayyyy too low for me, so I'll have to add something)
