What's on your Menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
DD: Yay for her being home! Keeping her in my thoughts as you wait for results.
QOTD: Muppets, Fantasy Island, and Murder She Wrote.
Personal commentary for the day...I got no more spoons at the moment. Feeling exhausted from being back at work, still stiff and healing, and missing having my Guy home in the evenings. He is at training during the week in the city until Nov 30. Uhg! It is supposed to turn cold (40s) here in Texas on Friday and we have not laid in our winter wood supply for the fireplace. I need a fire, a nap, fuzzy socks, and my Guy's lap to snuggle on all day Sat. I must make this happen!!! I have the technology and the will...it shall be!
Edit: Still 125 this morning. So far I have not fallen off the edge of the world even though I am not allowing myself to ruminate on what I am eating and counting every gram in my head. Will keep watch. I still have this illogical fear that I will wake up one morning and be MO suddenly again. The head fight is the toughest some days.
Menu: B: Dannon Light & Fit Greek; L: Maybe salami and mozzarella (packed it just in case) or office lunch (depends on what they order), D: Ham steak!!!! I keep planning for that and something else always comes up, S: 100 popcorn mini bag or yogurt depending on what I feel like.

Good morning everyone!
I'm on day 13 of Optifast (surgery Monday) so nothing exciting to report on my menu but I love the QOTD.
The Muppets was a family favourite and Fozzie Bear (or some variation of it) was always my Dads nickname for me. When we were little and our parents would bring us out to their friends houses I would have Fozzies jokes memorized and would do a little stand up routine to entertain the adults. Another favourite was Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday nights, not exactly a show in comparison to the others listed but as kids it was a great night for us because we got to stay up later than usual, watch hockey and eat popcorn... waaay back when the whole family fit on one couch!! Lol. When we were older it was Night Court and Cheers. So many great lines from Cheers and great characters too. We grew up in the country with only a handful of channels and my Dad would always joke that he had kids so they could adjust the aerial.
I'm assuming those shows all had Canadian subtitles?

Morning everyone!
Daisy, that poor girl looks so tired in that second picture! Give her a kiss from me, please!
QOTD: I remember getting so excited when Gilligan's Island reruns would come on - I was pretty young myself, but I loved that show! As I got older, it was The Brady Bunch, and I love Lucy... I also used to watch The Ponderosa when I got my own TV in my room, I'm not sure if I loved that show or it was the only thing on. In about 4th grade, in Houston, they had the Million Dollar Movie on right after school. They were often reruns of Jerry Lewis/Dean Martin movies, I remember thinking they were funny as hell. Now I feel officially old, because we watched Friends as adults (my two roommates and I). We are about the same age as them give or take. LOL
Today was my 6 month check up. Doctor was very pleased with my progress and told me he considered me successful... that getting 30 more lbs off would be hard (challenge accepted), and that I can't absorb any vitamin through a patch except Vitamin D. Then we looked at my lab results (protein at 22, Vitamin D up to 44, and iron at 104 (Total) 309 (for binding capacity) and 34 (% of saturation)). After we went over those, I asked him point blank if he wanted me back on the regular vitamins... he told me he didn't want to see any changes. He's not familiar with the Patch though, that was apparent. I guess I'm his guinea pig for the next 3 months.
He also told me that this board was great, then a few years ago it got 'ugly' here (I wasn't here, so I'm taking his word for it)... so I told HIM that it's wonderful again, and I couldn't' do it without ya'll! I went on and on about the great support here. It's funny, he's a great surgeon, but he's a short fat little man... I've heard that he had RNY but had it reversed. One day I'm just gonna ask him!
B: 2.5 oz of egg salad
L: See above
D: Not a clue (we are leaving Friday for Dallas for the weekend, so I'm most likely not cooking tonight, fend for yourself as I like to call it!)
S: I have beef jerky with me if I need it

Mine told me he wanted me on the regular vits for 1 year then I can try out the patch and see how the test results are. i have about 4 bottles of vits left (regular) then will switch to patch for multi. i have %#$# loads of calciums that I got at the $2 store here (don't worry they aren't expired ) and so will continue to take those.
Hi Daisy and all!
I am glad to hear Amy is home! We had our cat spayed about two months ago and she couldn't even walk without falling over when we got her home from the vet from her grogginess :( it was funny and sad at the same time. But she quickly healed, forgave me (she gave me a SERIOUS stink eye for a week after) and the hair grew back!
I had a delicious dinner last night that i have to share! In the Trader Joe's frozen section, I found a package of thinly sliced Dover Sole filets for $5.42. I bought them, defrosted them in the fridge, dredged them in a tiny bit of flour and salt and pepper, and sautéed them on the stove. Then I squeezed a ton of lemon over top. It was awesome! And let me tell you, Dover Sole is expensive at restaurants.
Time since surgery: 3 years in a month!
B: Tuna made with mayo and diced onion
L: Tuna made with mayo and diced onion (running very low on fresh protein and off to the store tomorrow)
D: TBD, we are going to a local casino (I am not a gambler but we are trying to do more creative date nights)
S: Popcorn, it's a terrible habit but it is what it is
E: Long walk outside - it's sunny and in the 60s and I feel like i have to take advantage of it while I can!
V: Just choked down my multi and calcium
I have been good about 100 oz of water a day
Have a wonderful Friday Eve, everyone!
