What's on your Menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
So glad Amy is home where she should be....
QOTD: Wow everyone is bringing up such good memories- Yes Dick Van Dyke falling over the ottoman at the start of every show... i Love Lucy... the first show I remember being a 'thing' with me and my siblings though was Batman... We would run to the TV. "Same bat time, Same Bat channel"... hahahahaha dating myself
OK Whatever the muscle relaxant was I mentioned yesterday was- I will never take it again. I had such a hangover for 2/3 of the day.... was back to normal like 7PM at night.... Had people over for a meeting, they arrived at10am. At 11Am I just looked at them- I was dizzy and nauseous at this point- and said "You can stay- I need to go to lay down"
I mentioned change in med last week and doing CAMAW and getting back down- I was on the low side of my maintenance range 162, now I am 164... no particular reason. Learning again how not sweat the small stuff. Have to keep telling myself- You are in your range and you are OK. My range is +/-165...knowing I will not be the exact number everyday. 170 is the panic button alert # ...LOL
I bought some of those Amylu chicken sausage at Costco the other day- never tried that brand but it had good stats- One link is 110 calories and 12g protein. I am going to brown it with onions and then pressure cook for a few minutes. I made some Teriyaki Meatballs for a potluck last week - a mix of some generic turkey meatballs that were going to be in my freezer forever because they were gross- not Trader Joe's and some teriyaki ones from Costco... even though they are pre-cooked and could have just been heated, pressure cooking them transformed those meatballs- I guess the steam infused moisture into them... they were delicious. Not just the sauce the meatballs themselves...You know how we are about keeping everything 'moist' so going to try it with the sausage too...
B: coffee latte fairlife/miralax, Spinach protein smoothie
L: Steak provolone melt on 1/2 low carb pita
D: Chicken sausage, veggie
Snacks: Syntrax fuzzy navel in water, hard boiled egg and babybel cheese, Chocolate chai latte, PB on spoon
EX: 1/2 hour in, PT today, see what they say about neck/shoulders. really is much better...just needs time.

QOTD: I notice that a lot of people are mentioning some of the same shows. I think that's partly because there were so few TV stations back in the day. When I was a kid, we could literally only get 5 stations that were broadcast over the air. I owned my own house before cable tv existed.
How will the kids who are growing up today answer this, 20 years from now? They have a billion channels to watch.

It will more likely be what their favourite YouTube channel was, or Netflix series!

Glad to see Miss Amy doing well and that Deanna is liking the new job too. I'm still praying on the results for Amys lump too and for speedy healing for her as well. Favorite TV shows growing up were Little House on the Prairie and The Lone Ranger. I was excited on our last trip when I got to see the house where Laura Ingalls Wilders wrote the little house books. I also didn't know that she was in her 60s when she wrote them. I guess it's never too late to start something new. Lily and I have our three plus miles in already and weight today is 117.6. Post op 4 years 23/4 months and here's today's food B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz rotisserie chicken 1/2 c carrots sticks D 31/2 oz oven fried chicken thigh 1/2 c green beans. No chili today as I ended up eating it 2 times yesterday and today I am bloated and gassy. I should know better but it was in the frig and I didn't feel like cooking steak. Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices !
Curious, Karen, for your oatmeal (which i strangely miss and can't wait to eat when in maintenance) do you add any sweetener, or is there sweetener built into your protein powder? I couldn't imagine eating oatmeal with PB without something sweet.
I loved little house on the prairie!

QOTD : I loved The Brady Bunch , Marsha , Marsha, Marsha .We had only one TV as well and yes dad ruled the TV.One funny thing stands out in my mind . There was no remote control and we had a dial on the TV to change the channel . I remember dad would get so mad when I'd change the channel in one sweep , chanel 3 to 13 in one turn . Haha yup good times .
Menu
B 1 hard boiled egg , 1 chicken nibbler
L Protein Drink and PB2
D 2 oz of lean ground beef and 2 oz of mozzarella cheese
S 3 / 4 cup of plain Greek yogurt

I am laughing at the channel changing.... now you'd be lucky if you could find the buttons on your TV to change the channel without a remote...
