What's on your Menu Today (Wednesday) RNYers?
I went out to eat with some women from church and didn't want to have to take protein powder to add to a bowl of restaurant oatmeal. Also when I make it at home I use steel cut oats and make them very thick so they stay with me a long time. Most restaurant oats are soupy and runny. For me,I think the oats stick with me longer than eggs but a change every now and then is good. I really didn't start with the oats til I was below goal and found that the fiber really helps with bathroom issues.

Hey all. Still too damn busy to post for real, but FYI: I sucked yesterday. I ate all the crap. Bagel, chocolate, Stromboli...all the crap.
QOTD: what's a social life? Lol. I'm more reserved about making friends at work than I used to be. I socialize at work but I prefer to keep home and work separate now.
Holiday potluck at work today...I'll try not to be a disaster.

Praying for Amy and Mom and Dad
Went to Ortho yesterday- He said cat Scan looked fine- matter of time for my aches and pain from car accident. Ordered PT...and a muscle relaxant called Tizanidine...which I've never heard of...because of the whole no Nsaid thing. He said 'take at night because it will make you tired' Holy Batman! He wasn't kidding, glad I was already in bed when it hit, and luckily I don't have to run out the door this AM, because I feel like I have a hangover. Although the hangover could be from the SF chocolate bar I ordered from Netrition and ate last night. SF or not, sometimes new foods kick your butt. Of course then I go read list of side effects of the meds...include weight gain and constipation. ugh. I will give it 2 more nights. Even though the bottle says I can take every 8 hours...I would pretty much be in bed 24/7 then.
Was hoping to visit my niece and twins soon...but their life is chaos. Everyone home from Hospital- Yay! Everyone in good spirits- Yay! Niece(the Mom) has to go back in for surgery on Thursday- Not yay!. Her badly broken collarbone...which I kept questioning what badly meant...and I guess it just means multiple fractures, isn't healing so she has to go in for pins and screws and whatever good stuff they need to do....So Surgery Thursday for her....
QOTD: I have several part time endeavors.... mostly in home, and the one out of the home I am very friendly with many people and we enjoy social business events.... but don't really spend time outside of the work environment....
In a food rut... trying to eat very simple brought my weight down to where I want it...but gets boring! Ate 600 calories total over 2 days of unplanned things (Not horrible- protein bar, SF Chocolate, only 8 frozen yogurt) and am up 4lbs. Now I know it is not real but our scales like to defy Physics.... Still in a perfectly fine place, but if we could figure out the mystery that is the scale there would be money to be made.

I'm happy to hear your niece and kids are home, even if temporarily. My aunt was also hit by a drunk driver, and had an incredibly long road to recovery. But I can say two years later, and she's back to her old self. She still has a couple more surgeries in her future, but otherwise is doing great!
wishing them all the best!

Thank you for saying that about the Tizanidine... I am officially looped. Woke up feeling like a hangover but it didn't go away. Had people at my house and around 11am...I was like "Excuse me, you can stay but I need to go to bed." Felt nauseous and shaky...didn't sleep...think it's passed but haven't really gotten up.(1PM) In pain but afraid to take anything, so I took Tylenol. And I did eat my can of tuna so I had good protein in me.

Good morning everyone!
Prayers for you, Arun and Amy, Daisy! Hoping for an uneventful surgery!
QOTD: I wish I had a positive answer to this one! I work at a small family-owned company that puts out a monthly health magazine and is also an advertising agency. When I first started this job two years ago, I loved it. It was full of people who cared deeply about the magazine and I had many friends. We hung out at work and outside, and I enjoyed everyone. Unfortunately, the publisher/owner is a goober with major anger management issues, and has either driven the people away or fired them on a whim.He comes up a lot at my therapy sessions, lol. I'm running out of friends here and am currently looking to change my job situation as it has quickly become toxic in the past year.

Daisy, lot's of positive thoughts going up for Amy today! Please keep us posted on how she's doing, and when you get the test results back
Today is my 6 month surgiversary. I'm not sure that I'll get all sentimental today and put up a separate post about it or not. I have lost 88 pounds officially, which is nothing to sneeze at, that's for sure! (Even if I did see 170.6 earlier this week.... grrrr). I feel good, and I can do things I couldn't before. Last night we had to move the horses from one pasture to another one we use across the street from our house. It's not a long walk, really, maybe 1/4 of a mile one way. I had my daughter's horse on lead, who was very excited to get to go to the big pasture, and was on a pretty good pace. I kept up with her (and kept her in check too!), and realized about 1/2 way down to the gate that I wasn't winded, my legs didn't hurt, and I was actually enjoying myself as the sun went down! That was nice. I can sit in any booth now, even when it doesn't look big enough to me when I walk up! I'm wearing a pretty solid Large in shirts (girls are still there for now 36DDD), and 12's and 14's in jeans. I bought a pair of One Size Fits Most pair of leggings, and they are great, and fit well! There are so many things that are wonderful about it all :)
Doctor's appointment tomorrow at 8:30am. I've been on the patch for almost 3 months now... I hope my numbers are good!
QOTD: The place I work at full time during the day is a stuffy, uptight, fracing service company. I have a few work friends - mainly men that are in their early 30's LOL - but aside from my daughter babysitting for one of them, I don't see them outside of the office. My Real Estate job, however, is a completely different story. The people there are fun, personable, unjudging, carefree, and did I mention Fun??! We do things outside of the office (well really, most Realtors aren't in the office too much if they're busy) all of the time, and also have great office related functions that are most definitely a great time. I also have a good friend that we hang out with just for fun. He's a friend foremost, and a fellow Realtor second.
