night before surgery
I have surgery scheduled for January. That's 2 months away and I still can't imagine actually having the surgery. I have tons of questions but let's start with an easy one...do we have to drink the MoviPrep the night before surgery??
Every surgeon is different ... mine didn't require any prep the night before ... just the usual nothing to eat or drink after midnight. I barely remember that night, it's a blur! I live almost 3 hours from the hospital where I had the surgery. I needed to be at the hospital at 5:30 am and of course, we were running really late getting there. We went the night before (kind of) but got such a late start that it was almost midnight when we got there. My mother and daughter were with me. We stopped to fill up the rental car right before we got to St. Louis and my mom went into the station and brought out a bag of donuts! I was flabbergasted but not as much as when she stopped and offered me one! She's really quite supportive but momentarily forgot the situation!!! She felt really bad about it. Anyway, by the time we got to the hotel and I took my 20 minute antibiotics shower, I really only got a couple hours sleep. Woke up early to get in a second antibiotics shower and then we needed to turn in the rental car before getting to the hospital at 5:30. We would have made it, too, if not for road construction and a detour. We got lost trying to find the rental car place. I was frantic. We finally made it, only 15 minutes late. Once there, the prep went really fast. After all the check in stuff, getting the gown on, signing the consents, getting iv started, talking to a ton of residents, nurses, anesthesia staff and my surgeon, it was time to go. They must have given me a sedative as they were rolling me out of the preoperative area because I vaguely remember saying good bye and kissing my daughter and mom and the next thing I knew it was 4 pm and I was being transported to my room. Whew ... After a year and a half of preparations and setbacks due to unexpected health issues that kept coming up, it was finally happening. I hope yo u r night before surgery is a little calmer than mine! It will be here before you know it ... best of luck!!!

I had to do the prep the day before surgery so I worked form home that day. I started my prep around 1pm so it would be over by bedtime.
I had been on nothing but shakes for two weeks prior and nothing bu****er the day before so there wasn't a whole lot of "prep" needed lol.

Thanks for the reply. Just trying to get it all in my head so I'm not surprised by anything. It's on my question list for the doc.
