What's on your Menu today (Monday) RNYers?
Daisy! My mini dachshund, Lucy, developed a lump in her flank and I took her to the vet last week. They aspirated and it was fat, but they think it is suspicious so she is having surgery Wednesday also. $700-900. They are also sending the mass out for histopathology to see what it is because it came on so quickly. Lucy is my baby since my daughter went off to college... I am scared to death. So empathize with you.
QOTD: No hair loss yet but I had my hair cut last week to a short bob because I already have thin hair and better to anticipate it and not be surprised.
B: Premier Protein chocolate with coffee and sf Torani Gingerbread
L: tuna with balsamic and 1 tbsp lf mayo
D: salad with ground beef taco meat, bell pepper slices, salsa ranch dressing
S: babybel, calcium x 2, sf jello, Syntrax Crystal Sky in water
Totals: 564 calories 83 protein 16 carbs 15 fat

Good monday morning. Late post for me as usual. The partner I worked for is back from China and ready to work. It totally interferes with posting time!
QOTD - After my VSG I began to lose hair right at three months. I lost about 1/3 of my volume. I have thick, curly hair so no one could tell except for me and the guy who does my hair. I was fascinated with the loss and would take a picture every morning showing how much came out that day (odd, I know.) It mostly grew back although it's not as thick as it was pre surgery (I could wrap an elastic around my ponytail twice prior to surgery and now it goes around three times). I was hoping to avoid loss with my conversion to RNY and thought I was in the clear when 3 months passed and I hadn't lost a strand. But two weeks ago, it started to fall out again (4 months post surgery). The guy who does my hair said it doesn't seem as bad to him this time, so I'm hoping the loss is small this time around. Although, i wonder how much hair weighs . . . maybe I can get back down to goal if I continue to lose hair . . .
Time since surgery: 2.5 years or 4 months and 2 weeks depending on which anniversary date you use:
B: 1 egg, 1 oz of ham, 1/2 slice of american cheese (Nikolai gave me sad puppy eyes this morning and I had to share)
L: Leftover sausage and peppers
D: NY Strip
S: 4 oz fairlife milk, 2.86 oz sliced turkey
Totals: Cal: 722; Protein: 88g; Fat: 28g; Carbs: 20g (these totals are low for me -- particularly the calories, so I'll likely add in another snack. I have almonds with me)
I finally made it in here, been busy all day.
To soon for me to lose hair yet, but I had my hair cut ultra short, my hairdresser said hopefully less will fall out without the weight of it being long, so we will just wait and see...lol

Hello all of you lovely menu peeps. I am late posting today, but have had back-to-back meetings since 7:30 this morning, so this is my first chance to check in. I had a great weekend at the Oregon Coast, with friends and five 17 year old boys. They are very noisy, but entertaining. Saturday night we had an epic game of Cards Against Humanity. I am still a little sore from laughing so hard.
Daisy, I am so sorry to hear about Amy, but fingers crossed that it is a benign tumor. Still scary, but most of these things are not a problem. Let us know what happens and give Amy a hug and a smooch from Layla.
QOTD: I did lose some hair, but it was not a big deal. Just a couple of years earlier I lost ALL of my hair when I was having chemo, so any hair I lost after surgery was a non-event. All of this stuff is a matter of perspective, and my perspective is likely different than most of you. I lost my eye lashes 3 times, so a handful of hair over 6 months barely registered.
Time Since Surgery: 23+ months
B: Egg Beaters, mozzarella and bacon omelette
S: 3 oz chicken breast, 1/4 c. roasted delicata squash, 2 dark chocolate Hershey's kisses (I know)
L: 3 oz. rib eye and 1/2 c roasted carrots
S: 3 oz deli roast beef
D: Green salad with crab, roasted veggies, dried cranberries and Trader Joe's mango dressing
Totals: Calories 883, Carbs 51 (drat you Hershey's Kisses and dried cranberries), Protein 93
Have a great day everyone!

Cards Against Humanity is a measure I use to see how cool people are... new friends? I think "Can they handle a game of CAH with us?" "No?" Instant demerit point (grin)
Seriously, that can be the funniest damn game ever!
And thank you for keeping the whole hair loss thing in perspective! It's hard to see it going down the drain, but knowing there's plenty more left is something I try to concentrate on

Late post from me today. Crazy Monday at work- I was in rare form and totally snapped on a new hire who tried to claim a schedule conflict on her first day. It actually felt good to say exactly what I was thinking.
qotd: skipping it. I lose patience with hair loss talk. I've lost 75% of my hair-- non WLS related. There are worse things in life. You adapt and move on.
Why do foods suddenly turn on you?? I've proudly, but sparingly been able to eat bread since surgery. Last 3 times I did it didn't sit well. I've not had the desire to eat it since.
18 months post op, 196.3 today
