Anyone have great pre op weight loss but slowed after surgery?
The weight gain in the hospital is from the IV and inflammation...it effects some people more than others. My first month I lost 11 pounds the first week, and then nothing-zero-zilch for 3 1/2 weeks. Thought I would lose my mind... Obviously got past it, have to think long term, this will happen if you stick with it.

Just give it some time. Sometimes when we are in it, and looking at the weight loss day by day, we can't see the big picture.
Log your weights regularly, then in 6 months go back. You'll see a definite loss. I lost 23lbs my first month, but a lot of it was water from the hospital IV. Then I went down to about 13 to 15 lbs a month for a few months. At 6 months out it slowed considerably, and I got scared that I was completely done, but it's kept going, though it's rather slow now. I'm getting close to goal, and it will slow down the closer you get. I'm 15 months post op and I have lost 135ish pounds.
Breathe and relax, it will be all right!
The first 10 pounds are water. You know that because one does not lose 22 pounds of fat in 14 days. No need to set yourself up for disappointment with unreaonable expectations. After that first easy loss. it's real fat and is slower going. Forget about weighing everyday until you are in maintanenc, you will only drive yourself crazy. Do what you need to do, and weight once a week - to once a month and be pleasantly surprised.
I only lost 10-12 pounds a month (2 pounds a week) - but you do the math - 100pounfd in a year. Hang in these, get some new hobbies to distract from the scale. Get a fitness tracker, take a dance class, etc.
You;re still very early post-surgery, the scale will take care of itself if you are following directions.
