Good morning menu peeps!  This is a quick post because I am leaving work early and going to the beach for the weekend.  Yay!  I love the Oregon Coast at all times during the year, including the stormy ones.  I am so looking forward to a relaxing weekend.  As a result, my menu is totally up in the air.  I had my usual Egg Beaters omelette this morning, but other then that, I got nothing!

Ugh Daisy.  Pizza!  My personal nemesis and demon.  I've mostly satisfied the craving with pizzas made in a portobello mushroom cap, but I have certainly stumbled.  Like my ordering a whole pizza fiasco.  The good news is that at least for me, a stumble like that would have signaled the beginning of the end.  Now I can pick myself up and get back on track.

The picture is of my Dad, who served in WWII.  He was a Marine and was on an aircraft carrier in Europe and Alaska.  He jokes that his job was to keep the Army and Navy enlisted from killing each other.

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Remembrance Day & Happy Veterans Day!

Good morning Friday Menu Friends!! It's the weekend!  Hope everyone has awesome plans for the weekend!  So full disclosure for you all, last night hubby brought home some homemade pizza & cookies that one of the Jurors made (an older Italian Nona he says who brings homemade food for them all the time and he says it's all amazing!) so it looked and smelled so good I had a slice and well it was AMAZING!  And then the cookies this Nona made I had to try some and they were AMAZING!  And the not so amazing part... my weight is at 131.2 today!! I almost fainted!  I like my weight at 125-128 and I am comfortable with that but 131.2 is a no go!  I am totally going CAMAW (cuz I want milk in my coffee & babybel) starting tonight! So I am sure you all wondered if I ever "cheat" or "eat off plan" and yes I do and I pay for it. Not only is my weight up I have a killer headache from all the carbs, so in my opinion it was not worth it!

QOTD: In lieu of a question please post your Remembrance Day/Veterans Day photo and tell us about it. Or maybe you have a family member who is currently serving, please tell us about them. My photo is of my Maternal Grandfather's grave in the Canadian War Memorial Cemetery in Groesbeek, The Netherlands. My Cousin was there about 10 years ago and took this picture. My Grandfather served in the Canadian Military and died in WWII. His name was Fred James Mitchell, died March 8, 1945 at age 29. So remember last week I posted a picture of my amazing Grandmother, this is her husband. My Gran used to talk to me for hours & hours about Grandpa Fred. She was so in love with him. And everyone to this day (my Mom's older cousins & Aunts & Uncles) still say what an amazing man he was, funny, smart, giving, loving.  I have a pic of him in his military uniform, if I can find it later will add it in. My Grandfather never met his kids (my Mom & Aunt), both leaves from the army he got Gran pregnant and was back fighting when they were born. My Mom was born in January 1944 and he was supposed to come home but got delayed and was then killed the next year before he made it home, so sad right! My Gran saved all his love letters he wrote home and medals and my Mom has all that now, the letters are incredible so full of love. RIP Grandpa Fred. Thank you to all who have served and who continue to serve!

Hi Daisy, I used to love coffee as much as you before surgery but no so much any more. Maybe 1 or 2 a week. It's weird my brain says yes then I go to drink it and it switches over and says no! I used to love lean( (or fatty LOL!) pork chops too. My wife asked me to grill one for her yesterday and just thought of tasting it turned my stomach. Who knows maybe down the road.

Thank you for your service veterans!

When I graduated high school I wanted to join the Coast Guard but they told me (very nicely) I was too fat and I surely was!
