Good Morning Daisy and Everyone!

Daisy, loved the story about your Grandfather.  So sad that he was killed and never got to meet his kids, but thank goodness he had kids or you wouldn't be here!

Today we get to see the photos the photographer took of Saralisa and of Saralisa with me and the dogs!  I'm so excited!  I hope they came out good!  I also got some things on the local dollar auction for a song, including a digital photo frame for only $8!  I get to pick them up today.  Super Shopper Hillary would be so proud of me!  Tonight we are going to a church Game Night so that should be fun!

My photo today isn't a military photo, but it is a remembrance photo of my beautiful mom who died a couple years ago.  She and I were extremely close and I miss her terribly.  She was an amazing lady who wrote and published hundreds of articles and 7 books and was a regular writer for Guideposts Daily Devotionals.  She was a very loving mother who went back to college in her 30's and got her master's degree and started teaching college and writing.  She also got her private pilot's license.  She was very intelligent, but most of all, very kind and loving.  I was very lucky to have her for a mother and miss her every day.

My menu for today:

B:  Crepe w/ peaches, cream cheese, cool whip

L:  Lettuce, spinach, chicken, cheese, cranberries & nuts, low cal dressing

D:  Pot luck at church - will try to choose wisely

S:   "    "     "     "

Exercise:  Walking the dogs around the subdivision.

Have a great day everyone and a wonderful weekend!

I forgot to mention my maternal grandfather was in the Navy in World War II.  I have pictures of him somewhere, but not where I can find them to post today.  My dad was in the National Guard.

Thank you to all veterans for our freedom!

Good Morning Daisy and menu crew. Happy Veterans day! My day could have gone downhill. I was pulled over by the Police on my way to work. Yes I was speeding. I was doing 68 in a 50 zone. I was polite and apologetic, in the end I received a written warning and no Ticket. Phew.

QOTD - This a news article that described a meeting near St Lo France between my Grandfather "Ken" and his brother "George" , it really shows what a small world we live in.

Thank you for sharing Daisy. Our Grandparents are from the greatest generation. They sacrificed so much for the good of all. I can only hope that I would be strong enough  to answer the call if needed. Did I ever mention that my Grandmother was from Canada? She grew up in Montreal, I have many relatives in Canada. We are fortunate to have a good relationship!

Although I'm off today for the holiday- I'm actually at work playing catch up. I don't have a veterans day pics to share- none of my family as far as I can recall has served in the armed forces. Thanks to those of you, or your family-- that has.

Weekend plans: We'll go indoor rock climbing again today, dragging hubby with me so I can actually climb this time. Bowling for the younger tomorrow AM, then older has an entrance exam on Sunday.

Happy Veterans Day everyone. My father served in Korea but I was never around him enough to hear any stories. My parents divorced when I was 41/2 and my mother refused to let us see him. When I married my husband I reestablished contact with my dad and got to spend some time with him before he died at a fairly young age from complications from diabetes. The divorce was a big stressor as a child and when my emotional eating and obesity began, but the death of both parents far too young was my motivation to have my surgery. I will be happy to start the post this weekend JB as I am up and at it early most days. Lily and I have our three plus miles in already today. Post op 4 years 21/2 months and weight at 116.6 today. Here's the eats B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1 c chili with cheese D 31/2 oz smoked sausage 1/2 c cauliflower S mission one chocolate chip cookie protein bar .  Have a great day everyone and make some amazing choices!
