1 1/2 weeks pre-op, and new fears emerging

I'm so excited and cannot wait to have my surgery on the 21st!!!! That said, and even after a lifetime of being on diets and 6 months spent diligently preparing for this, I am suddenly overwhelmed and anxious about doing everything right and being successful. I have my first appt with a therapist tomorrow and I'm hoping to get some help with that as well as addressing my emotional eating issues that I know about and probably some I don't. I may be overthinking all of this...I'm stocked and ready, I'm on here (great info), I'm using myfitespal, will be attending a support group, starting to see a therapist, what else should I do? I don't think I'm OCD but I'm seriously starting rethink that!

I am 12 weeks out, you will do fine, it all does seem overwhelming at first but within a few days it all comes together and you will be a pro at it! Anytime you have a question just come in here and someone will answer you. Listen to the Vet's in here they have been doing it for along time and really do know what they are talking about! Good Luck!!!!

Thank you, I must be overthinking it. I can't wait to get to the other side to enjoy the ride!!!
I was very scared. I got my living will and will in order and was working on funeral arrangements, when I got a call that there was a cancellation. That moved me up two months and I just started the liquid diet and left it to fate.
After the surgery, I felt great and wondered why I had worried so much.
Just take it one day at a time. After surgery I have no hunger and can only eat small amounts at meals. It changed my life for the better.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
My surgery date is the 22nd, and I think it's normal to feel overwhelmed... I know I do. My boss has had the RNY and she's giving me tips and tricks to get thru it all. Also, from sitting in on the support groups, it seems that everyone has that "what if I'm the one that fails" feeling at one time or another. Definitely do the support groups! They will help you with any questions. Good luck!

I plan on attending the support group as well. I wish I had started sooner, the next one is after my surgery, but I will be there!! Thank you!
My surgery is 11/16 and I am sort of freaking out, too -- excited and anxious and scared and excited! I have been reading about RNY, bariatric surgery in general, the ups and downs ... I am in a support group already, and have been working on my eating disorder (Compulsive Over-Eating) for years with a therapist. My endocrinologists are all thumbs up about this as it will -- hopefully -- help my diabetes.
Good luck and hope to read more of your posts!
