5th surgiversary came and went... and I almost forgot it!
October 24, 2011 I was in RNY surgery.
5 years later, I am so ingrained in this new (now old) way of living, I forgot to post a triumphant message!
I am closer to 160 now than 155... menopause has been a ***** and to add insult to injury, bicycle weather was crappy this summer. Other than that, everything is status quo. Here's a pic from just last weekend, when the entire family (me, husband, three daughters, one son, one grandson) took a long cardio walk along the DuPage River. I love this picture, since the way my plaid shirt is bunched up makes my boobs look so much bigger than they are :)
As you can see, two of the girls have their own weight battles to fight. I am not sure right now, at the ages of 26 and 19, if RNY is right for them too. But as adults, they have to make those decisions on their own.
I am just happy to be alive and well and able to take long walks in the fall with them.
