Too funny on the immigration website crash right! I laughed my ass off when I saw that on the news this morning!
I doubt you make "constant mistakes" Em. You are doing what works for you. We are all different, yes we had the same surgery but what works for me may not work for you so I think you are being a little harsh on yourself. You still eat protein forward, don't drink with your meals, take your vits and are super active so where are all the "mistakes?" Hey forget about "some days" I feel like I eat like a normie, try most days. I have been known many times to pile my plate full of food at say a pot luck at someone's house only to eat a 1/4 if I can lucky off the plate, will I ever learn? I too am a work in progress. So take that you are not alone! LOL
I want your whole menu!! I love everything off it! Tell me that when hubby and I come to DC next year you will cook for me LOL LOL
And I needed to respond back to your post Em. One thank you for your super kind words, that was really sweet. But I need to set the record straight, I am no Angel. I get mad, I swear, I have bad days, I get annoyed, I roll my eyes, I scoff, I cry, I yell and I may have been called an "aggressive driver" once or twice or a 100 times before LOL LOL So please don't think that I am something special, I am just me, just Daisy. I really got a lot of love and support from OH & the Vets and from our original Menu posters so its my my turn to give back to all of you and the newbies. I struggled so much when I was first post op and so I know how the newbies feel and it makes me happy to give back. Oh and for the record I grew up in a pretty negative household (my Dad), and I vowed when I grew up I was not going to be that and so I strive daily to be positive and to spread the love
Well you do a damn good job being positive and spreading the love! I swear, we are twins - I am also seen by my friends and family as someone who is positive and an optimist, but get me behind the wheel and I am mad aggressive LOL! I sometimes wonder if all of my anger and aggression is let out while driving, so in the rest of my life I can be a nice person ;)
Of course I would be happy to cook for you and Arun! I would love it! I love finding new menus and making new things. This weekend it's a chicken burger made from ground chicken, small chunks of pineapple, soy sauce, egg, paprika, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, pepper and garlic. How good does that sound? With pepper jack cheese and some chipotle mayo. (I am hoping the kids like it, though obviously the kids' burgers will have less spice than ours!).
Thanks for giving back - I remember VIVIDLY being pre-op and just plain confused! You help people everyday, and we all adore you
Good morning, Daisy and Menu Crew! It was a late night for me due to the election, as well. No matter who our President Elect is, I still got up, ran a mile, got my family taken care of and squared away, played with the pigs while feeding, and brought my tired behind into work. By the way, no matter who is President, Jesus is still the King. Pray for our country. Pray that we can find unity when political divides seem to drive us apart. We are still a great nation as long as we strive to keep it that way. Americans have spoken, now we have to live with it or move to Canada, or retire in Mexico! LOL Political rant over.
Weekend plans start on Friday afternoon for me. DH and I will be going to my favorite place to shop, the feed store!!! Seriously, I'm that country!
QOTD: I'm STILL pre-op, but my behaviors have changed, except for last night, when the kids wanted homemade mac n cheese. I had about three bites of it before I could I think....what the hell are you doing, Kandace?!?!? Such is life. I'm sure I will have more moments like this, but I need to keep my goals in my head to keep me from doing this again. Do I honestly think that three bites of mac n cheese really hurt me? Probably not, but I've been doing so well that I caught myself off guard.
B: Tuna, balsamic (Yes! It's that good, y'all!)
L: Smoked turkey breast bites (Hubby loves to smoke meats!)
S: String cheese
D: Ribeye, steamed broccoli
S: Probably not, I'm so tired
V: Cut that big one up this morning, and didn't gag on them so much. Will be giving them away soon, but I'm still taking them until I can't anymore.
L: Two coffees down and iced water in the Yeti on my desk
E: Already ran a mile, even though I got a late start this morning. I guess we will be walking the pigs and the goat this evening and cleaning the barn up. It's getting a little smelly, so the straw hay has got to come out today!!!!
Have a great day, folks!

ok LOL at fav place being the "feed store" ummmmm I have never even seen a feed store LOL But hey if it gets your motor running then yahoo!!
I can't do pasta post surgery, so I miss mac n cheese A LOT. Enjoy it while you can ha ha
Awesome menu Kandace! And I have been calling you Karen, please correct me next time! I am sorry!!
Yes on the cutting up the vitamins, and then getting rid of them, I am happy for that!
Ummm what is a "yeti on my desk" do tell please!!
I love that you are so involved in your animals, I bet all that work keeps you strong, cleaning out a barn I suspect must be a damn hard job, go you!!!!
stunned and upset over the election results. I know a lot of people hated Hillary, but.....seriously? Donald Trump?? I don't even know what to think. Although like others have said, rant over....
QOTD: not really. I told my surgeon I was going to be his most compliant patient ever, and for the most part, I am. I was so sick of being SMO that I knew I"d do anything to get that weight off and keep it off. Plus my pouch is good at keeping me to it - I vomit if I've eaten too much in general or more than a little of the "wrong thing". I'm almost 18 months out, so I know things could change, but I hope not. I'm very grateful for my picky pouch
B: Greek yogurt, 10 raspberries, 1 T Kashi Crunch granola
S: iced protein pumpkin latte (homemade - so with SF Torani syrup and unsweetened cashew milk), coffee with half & half
L: working remotely this morning - if I go back to my office for lunch, then 1 C cottage cheese. If not, probably a protein bar
D: 1 C chili
probably another Greek yogurt
Good morning Daisy and Menu crew. Thank you for the well wished regarding my interview yesterday. I think I hit it out of the park. The HR manager was not very discrete with her facial expressions and would look at the Operations manager nodding with approval as I was answering/talking. LOL. They would like me to send my Salary requirement and they are already aware that I have 7 weeks vacation at this time and mentioned we could negotiate. Still a long way to go.
QOTD - I have been fortunate that I have stayed away from my pre surgery vice and that is sweets, Little Debbie, Hostess, etc. I did cave in on vacation and consumed more than a couple of krispy kreme raspberry jelly filled donuts....LOL..One thing that I enjoy more than I should is consuming alcohol. Not a daily or weekly thing, but I do enjoy it. I like Vodka and water and I add Mio flavoring. I always journal and plan ahead for it.
B - two eggs microwaved in the "Eggtastic"
S - caramel Apple pie yogurt and peanuts
L - Taco salad minus the chips
S - salami and garlic and herb cheese sticks
D - Baked cod in garlic butter ( I had grilled ribeye last night)
Exercise - I set a personal record on the leg press last night, 720 lbs - 10 reps. I could have done more, but realized I was hogging all of the 45 lb plates so I was courteous and stopped.....
Stay healthy my friends, Mike
*** Edited to add comment regarding election*
I had already voted and my son sat down with me and said "Dad , we have many problems with our country and it seems as though the politicians are only getting Rich, companies are moving from the US and taking jobs with them and our economy is horrible, not to mention healthcare. Do you realize that is Hilary Clinton Becomes our next president it will mean the US has only known 3 Family names since 1989. Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama ...it really made me think as I had not even thought about that piece of info. I am concerned for our country. I do not have the answers, but know that we need political reform and we all need to be active and let our voices be heard.
I'm sure that the majority that voted for HRC would agree with your son. He's very insightful. She wasn't my first pick. I wanted to see new 'blood' in there too. I just couldn't' get past the hate, bigotry, disregard for any kind of respect for women, immigrants, people of color, or disabled... my list goes on.
However, here we are. I hope that with the bad, comes the good. I hope that people wake up and actually practice what they preach and work locally to do it, because maybe we can push the love upwards.
***Edited to add... and I hope the company calls you with an offer you can't refuse!***
