What's on your Menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?

I knew you would be the kind of lady to stand up for someone you are tough and strong and I love that you would be a force to be reckoned with!! That is great you said something to your Mom yesterday, good for you, even if it was just pointing out the obvious it was nice you stood up for your Dad!
Enjoy your walk, and give the fur kids some snuggles from me!
I can see my mother saying something similar. People are who they are-- hopefully your SIL doesn't take it to heart-- but having been in those shoes-- I can get the being defensive of her. Sometime drawing the extra attention to it may cause the recipient of the fat shaming to feel worse-- I'm sure we're all been in that place where we'd just rather the talk to end- change the subject, move on. I've never been a fan of forcing someone to apologize-- IMO they need to come to the realization that they need to apologize on their own.

Morning RNY'ers!! I'm working a 1/2 day today to take my son to an oral surgeon. He has a tooth not coming in that's impeding progress with his braces. I'll take advantage and vote mid-day too.
QOTD: Can't recall seeing fat shaming in person (other than the unending comments my mother makes about my siblings, she did the same to me when i was SMO) but I kind of expect that from mothers. No different that a mom berating their kids about being single, not giving them grandkids etc. There's a more productive way to communicate the concerns I'm sure-- my Mom just hasn't grasped that skill. Working in HR-- I've seen how people are discriminated based on weight & looks. It sucks-- and made me wonder how many times that's happened to me.
In reviewing MFP totals, I see I've been average about 300-400 calories more than I should be, too often. I post my menu here daily- and the posted menu fits into my 1,000 calories max, but it those damn unintended extras (the after work snacks). I've got to shake them now.

Good luck with the oral surgeon! I can only imagine the things you see/hear working in HR I am sure you could write a book!
Good luck with kicking the unintended extras to the curb!!
To me, this is the great thing about logging everything in MFP. We know when we start drifting too high. I see others that don't log, have started gaining, but insist they aren't eating more. I'd bet money that, if they logged, they would see they have been eating extra.

Good morning DD2 and gang. I have a sinus headache this morning and haven't taken anything for it yet. I also need to make another pot of coffee, since I woke late and my hubby only left me one small cup to drink! Oh, the horror!
Today is election day here in the US and I'm patiently waiting for my little one to wake up so we can get ready to brave the polls together. I don't work today, so I know if I wait a while the polling place will be less likely to be busy when all of the people are at work. I also plan to go shopping a bit today if my little one will allow it. I have to pick up a few items for my new job next week. All of my dress pants are now officially way too big, so I need to supplement my work wear wardrobe since I've lost about 10lbs since I left my last job.
QOTD: I have seen it on facebook and actually had to unfollow my cousin when she posted a terrible fat shaming video of an obese girl eating an oreo. See, the thing is that people don't realize what they are doing sometimes when they make mean remarks. I remember I posted about it here on OH when it happened, and honestly I don't think my cousin really realized what she was doing and thought it was a funny video. That is how prevalent fat shaming is in our society. People do it because it's acceptable to make fun of other people, and it doesn't only go for the obese. It's minorities, people with disabilities, or anyone who looks/acts different than them. It's sad and I try to speak out when I see it, but sometimes it's just so exhausting.
15 months since surgery
B: 1 egg, 2 slices of center cut bacon, a slice of reduced fat Kraft singles and half a low calorie tortilla
L: grilled chicken breast on a romaine salad with tomatoes and cucumbers and low fat/calorie dressing
D: I haven't thought about it yet, but I have a bunch of food to choose from. I'm leaning toward chicken again, since my hubby made pork chops for their dinner last night.
