Morning Menu peeps! I hope all of you voted, not only for this Presidential election, but for the more local things that really impact where you live and probably affect you more than the Presidential race!

QOTD: My dad, whom I adore more than I probably should, used to tease me about having thunder thighs... ya'll, at that time I weighed between 140-150... but my entire family is outspoken and 'teases' everyone about things that most would get offended over... I did OK with that, until 1 day, several years ago, when I realized my dad quit teasing me about my thunder thighs... THAT'S when I knew I was really MO, and needed to get a grip on it. Reverse psychology? Maybe, but it took over a decade for me to get the WLS. I never was teased, or felt different than the skinny girls (overall, in a social situation anyway) by anyone, not really. I was/am very lucky, or oblivious! LOL

 

We are all having a big juicy steak for dinner to either celebrate or down our sorrows while we watch the election results together for family night! (OK, so my steak isn't as big and as juicy as everyone else's, but I'll be the only one eating it for 3 days! LOL)

My father used to fat shame me all the time, in front of people, not in front of people, it didn't matter to him. We never got along, it was a blessing for me when he passed away.  I have on a few occasions stuck up for people the were being fat shamed. I don't know why people can be so mean to others.

Good morning.  I haven't been posting much, but I have been keeping track.  I thought it was about time to come back to the family.  

DQOTD - One event sticks in my mind.  I was in target (the one by me is two stories) and waiting for the elevator which just happens to face the plus size department.  An older woman who could have stood to eat a sandwich or two, or 20 (she was WAAAYYYY beyond skinny) starting talking to me about the clothes and bathing suits and how disgusting it is that they're so big and "can you believe that someone could be big enough to actually wear that??"  "Why does someone so big need a bikini?  I don't need to see that." and on and on and on.   I momentarily lost my mind.  I told her to shut the hell up.  That I fit into those clothes and that she should keep her damn opinions to herself.  I continued to follow her around the store shaming her for being stupid, unattractive, anorexic, you get the idea.  She kept looking at me like I was crazed (and I was . . . she hit a nerve) particularly since I kept saying how those clothes were my size when in reality I was in a size 4.  I'm surprised she didn't have security remove me from the store.  Ugh.  Stupid people make me so mad.

On to accountability:

B: 3.12 oz sliced turkey breast

L: Homemade chili (It's really just spicy beef.  I used 3 lbs of beef, diced tomatoes, chili seasoning, etc.  It's very thick and hearty.  I measured out 4 oz.) and a tbs of cheddar cheese

D: New York Strip

S: 2.75 oz roast beef, Skinny vanilla latte

Not sure of the totals because I'm too lazy to grab my phone where it's entered, but under 1000 cals and probably 80+g of protein.

Good morning, Daisy and menu gang...

QOTD:  Daisy O-M-G.  That would have really set me off.  Like in I would have thrown MIL out of my car.  Thankfully it has not happened with me.  I nanny for two kids who ask all the time about my weight, but it is clearly in an "I don't understand" manner.  They were trying to show me off the other day to their mothers - "look how skinny Cheryl is, and she was so fat before!"  Totally different scene ;)

B:  Premier Protein chocolate with coffee and Torani sf Gingerbread

L:  Pure Protein Chocolate Coconut protein bar (I know but I got stuck at work without food)

D:  Taco salad with beef, lettuce, cheese, guacamole  and salsa

S:  Babybel cheese, sf jello

Totals:   679 calories 74 protein 28 carbs 33 fat

I am so (hungry?) today... pouch just grumbling away.  I almost could not keep the dinner I had down last night, and then today I feel like I cannot get enough.  Already ate my lunch.  I might have to add protein drink or something...

Hello menu peeps, and fellow survivors of Election 2016.  I have been super busy for the past couple of weeks, and have had no time to post, and hardly any to read the posts on a daily basis.  I am hoping that things are calming down, and that I can get back to posting on a regular basis.  I've missed you guys!

I am going to an election results watch party tonight at a friend's house, and menu for the rest of the day is pretty much up in the air.  I really need to stop at Trader Joe's after work and stock up on some stuff.  The larder is empty.

QOTD:  I really haven't seen any fat shaming since surgery.  I had my fair share of it when I was younger, particularly in grade school.  I went to a Catholic grade school, which is pretty much the Lord of the Flies, from a social perspective.  The kids could be pretty brutal, and as a fat kid, I was a perfect target.  Once I got out of there, the bullying pretty much stopped. Kids are mean.

Time Since Surgery:  23+ months

B:  Egg Beaters, mozzarella and bacon omelette

S:  2 Trader Joe's lite string cheese

L:  Not sure, but probably a trip through the salad bar.  Or maybe a Vietnamese Salad roll?  There is a Whole Foods type store close to work, so I will go over there to see what looks good.

S:  ?

D:  Chicken Fajitas innards (no tortilla)
