What's on your Menu today (Monday) RNYers?
Good morning, Daisy and menu peeps! It's a beautiful Monday here in DC, though it freaked me out to have such a sunny sky at 7:20 am! I am dreading the darkness at 5 pm...
Early voting for me today, and the gym. Not too much exciting to report. My weekend was great and I am the same weight as Friday, despite eating more like a "normal" person and less like a "WLS" person. I am trying to figure out if I can eat like a normal-sized person and do less weighing/measuring/counting/stressing... I worry it's a slippery slope back to wayyyyyy too many calories, but as long as I weigh myself everyday (after peeing, and naked, of course!) I can see how it works for me.
QOTD: Pasta. Straight up. Mac and cheese, noodles with salt and pepper, noodles with butter, noodles with parmesan cheese, fettuccine alfredo...you name it, I love it. I do eat it at times now, and sometimes it makes me sick, though sometimes it sits well. Don't even get me started on why I would eat something that sometimes makes me throw up...that's addiction right there, eh? But yes, noodles are my slippery slope and before surgery, my diet was so insanely carb heavy that it's no wonder I was SMO! Now if I do have noodles, it's as an accompaniment to whatever protein is my main dish (chicken or salmon).
Daisy, it's awesome that Arun understands your "crazy" moments (re: cake) and supports you. My bf is just NOT interested in food (I know, I know, how is that even possible?!) and does not get food addiction. Case in point - we are doing an early Thanksgiving with his kids since they will be with their mom on the actual day. I suggested we do it a few weeks before or after, not immediately in that week. My reasoning: none of us need all of that food twice in a week. He looked perplexed and was like, "What do you mean? I will just eat some food until I am full, who cares if it's twice in one week". How does he not know that I could easily pick on 10,000 calories of stuffing in a week? LOL!
Time Since Surgery: 2 years, 11 months
B: Leftover egg bake with bacon and sausage and cheese
L: Leftover honey garlic crockpot chicken, 1/4 of a sweet potato
D: Homemade salmon patties, small red potatoes
Hmmm it sounds like I eat a lot of potatoes and I really don't - they are definitely not a trigger for me.
E: An hour at the gym
If someone could please fast forward to Wednesday, that would be great. I am OVER the nasty news 24/7. I may bury my head under a pillow.
P.S. Happy birthday to AnnyBananny in case she posts today! (who is getting married this coming Saturday!)

I think I could 10,000 calories of stuffing in an hour, if unsupervised!

Good morning, Daisy and Menu Crew! It was a LONG weekend for me. It rained....a bunch! The barn flooded, we built more pens in the barn, I had to weld and move water lines and re-do water lines, etc. My work is never done.
QOTD: Since I'm still pre-op, I don't really have an answer for this. I know that there are some things that may trigger me later on, but right now, I'm so focused on the goal that nothing is really bothering me. Halloween candy is still floating around the house, and I haven't even wanted any. I'm pretty good at telling myself no, but there are some things that I have been cooking for the family just so I can get them out of the house. I haven't been eating them, but I just don't want that sort of temptation post-op....when I'm only on clear liquids. I have put a lot of casseroles and things like that in the freezer for when I'm post-op, but nothing that I can't live without. I'm not trying to set myself up for failure at this point
Time until surgery: 21 days
B: Tuna, balsamic dressing (curious as well)
L: HB patty w/ A.1. sauce
S: trail mix sans chocolate (Seriously, I bought a bag of trail mix....nuts, raisins, M&M's....dug out all of the M&M's and sent them in my husband's lunch box!)
D: Chicken fajita meat & veggies, maybe some low fat sour cream
S: don't think I'll need one. Time has changed, so I'll be in bed by 7:30
Ex: Ran a freaking mile this morning before 5:30 am....couldn't even run a mile in high school...not the best timed mile ever, but still GO ME!!!
Vit: Choked them down
Liq: Had 20 ozs of coffee, Yeti cup full of iced water, trying to get it all in at my desk!
Just another manic Monday. Have a great day folks!

Hi menu gang,
I spent the afternoon on Saturday in the ER with my friend. She was really sick but she is doing better now. Sunday I went to church.
QOTD any kind of sweets especially candy I can't have in the house. Im learning the hard way. It is the path of deconstruction of weight regain and not getting to goal. Im learning that.
B egg whites ham and cheese omelet and string cheese
L tuna salad
D chicken sausage
S Greek yogurt and turkey sausage snack sticks
I wont be on the rest of the week, Im going to my brother's house tomorrow for the week. Enjoy your week.
Good morning Daisy and menu gang!
QOTD: M&M's, pizza, peanut butter. On Halloween the place where I work had a bowl of M&M's sitting on the counter... there were only about 20 left, but it was torture. I walked by them for several hours before I finally begged two of the kids to PLEASE eat them, which they did gladly. I was totally on edge until the little devils were gone. Pizza is something I can not have in my house. Peanut butter I keep in my trunk so I have it when needed for a recipe, but not so accessible that I can spoon it out at will.
B: Premier Protein vanilla with coffee and Torani sf Gingerbread
L: Leftover ribeye (folks I found a meat I can tolerate... very rare prime ribeye at $17/pound ;))
D: Taco salad with ground beef, lettuce, cheese and salsa
S: Dannon Light & Fit Pumpkin, babybel cheese, calcium chew x2
Totals: 641 calories, 74 protein, 22 carbs, 29 fat
I feel like I need a gold star today for having TWO servings of beef or maybe a new car
You go with your two servings of beef, cheryl!
