Hello I'm six weeks out from my surgery (RNY) I feel in a rut food wise, Im not very imaginative.  I've been eating string cheese, laughing cow cheese, beans, protein shakes, avocado, deli meat and scrambled eggs with salsa.  PS I don't like seafood or hard boiled eggs.  I've had trouble with chicken. Thanks for any input.

If you like to cook, there are great ideas at The World According to Eggface site.

I made ricotta bake, chili, split pea soup, meatballs and protein ice cream.

Ricotta Bake for sure and I remember loving refried beans with melted cheese on top. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/puree d-foods.html

I whizzed up cooked cannelini beans with a little store bought pesto sauce and melted cheese too. Sort of the Italian girl version of refried beans.

If you can do deli meat... http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2014/06/5-thi ngs-to-do-with-cold-cuts.html

Your taste buds will change.  You may want to try shrimp (frozen...Put in microwave for 15-30 seconds).  If you don't have any, ask friends, family, or neighbors for just 1 or 2 to see if you like them...Chew well!  Also you just may want to try tuna again.  I would add a very small amount of low fat mayo, salt, pepper, and the kicker...

I have always hated fish, but since surgery I can't eat enough of it!  lol   Love it now, with some lemon on it, same with shrimp, would not put one in my mouth and now they are YUMMY!  And all of it is very high in protein!

Go on eggfaces blog and look up dips! They have been very helpful in being able to handle dense protein better.

Hummus, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, and I love the Unjury chicken broth protein powder. I also make a protein pudding with high protein milk (Fairlife) and I have made it with greek yogurt and/or cottage cheese.  Refried beans with cheese and hot sauce was a particular favorite early out.  Fish any kind and I do not agree currently, or chicken. Good luck!  This stage passes quickly, thank goodness.

Me too.  Cat food.  I also have a hard time with textures... hard boiled eggs, shrimp, tuna are terrible.
