What's on your Menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
I know I've been MIA. I've been so busy! When I post if I get the robot message I just bail out. I don't have time to fool around with all that.
It's so hot and humid here. I look forward to it cooling off. I hate the cold but I'm ready for a break. We need some rain too.
QOTD: My surgeon has never mentioned anything about a honeymoon phase. Matter of fact, he just hired on a full time Dietitian! I spoke to a Nutritionist over face time on an IPAD shortly before surgery and that's it. I have an appointment with her next month. I'm anxious to see how much she really knows about WLS. I saw my surgeon yesterday. He was shocked to hear that I'm only eating about 800 calories a day. He said I should be eating 1200 to 1500!!!! WTF?!!!

1200 to 1500 is crazy talk. Just insanity.

I agree! He also only wants me to lose 10 lbs every 6 weeks. He said he likes his patients to lose it slow and steady. It's obvious he doesn't believe in the honeymoon phase. I go back to see him in February and his goal for me is to lose 20 more lbs by then! What? Seriously? I'm hoping to be close to goal. If not then at least well below 200!
You are right on time for the infamous stall. Mine started 1 week out and lasted 22 days. Just keep doing what you are doing and the scale will move again. Eventually your calorie intake will increase because you will be able to eat a little more the farther out you are. I wouldn't worry about changing anything yet.
Hi Folks! Works been busy and thanks to a transit strike traffic gets me here later then I'd like. So overall, not much time to 'play'.
QOTD: Yes they did say there was a honeymoon period- they said it could last "up to" 18 months. They encouraged us to maximize weight loss during the honeymoon by avoiding the white stuff as much as possible. The thing I love about my center is that they don't push any "goal"- I told them where I wanted to be-- they said fine. They never tried to talk me out of it, or convince me to lower it or gave it a 'deadline'. They never stressed about my rate of loss either.
I do recall panicking something awful as I neared six months because I figured that was the start of the end of the honeymoon and I was no where near where I wanted to be. Now at 18 months out the losses are at a snails pace. Every time I lag, I toy with the "well this must be it" thoughts. But I've done that at every slow move from 220# to today. I'm actually thinking of increasing my goal from 175 to 180. I absolutely love the way I look/feel right now. I'm easily in a size 12 (my size goal) and will not go lower than a 10.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that's stressed over the slower weight loss, and even happier to see that you've lost since you started getting worried!!!
