Thanks for posting! Sorry it didn't taste good, but I bet there's a way to make it taste much better! Someone mentioned goat cheese, and I think that with cranberries would be awesome (I'd leave out the apples, but that's just me). Spices are everything... and everyone should use lots of them!

Gold medal for an AM workout for sure!  And yes is it ever hard to get back to working out after being away from it for a while, hope you find a new spot soon that you like! Win win win for sure on resisting the chocolate we brought, it really does speak to how life is so different now post op!

What a bummer on the stuffed chicken.  I would have either drowned it in gravy, put a ton of salt & pepper over it or made some SF cranberry sauce with fresh cranberries and Splenda. Or when in doubt get take out or go to your fav restaurant LOL LOL

Your answer to my question resonates with me, the in a restaurant and you are with non WLS people and they are having all the things you can't have cuz you know you will get sick or have RH, that is so true!

Your snack sounds yummy... chicken and mango sriracha YES PLEASE!

(...) but I have definitely had that moment in the grocery store or a restaurant when I am sick of being a bariatric patient, and decide that I want to be "normal". It never works. Eyes are bigger than my stomach or I get an RH reaction, so I get booted back to reality pretty quickly. (...)

8+ years post op - i still have moments like that..not very often... at the same time - having too many RH episodes in those 8 years makes me really aware of what foods could cause that - that I developed a real aversion to it. Even a smell of some of those foods  can make me nauseous. So even if I could have it - I really don't want it. I really don't like food like that anymore (i.e. real cookies, cakes, donuts, fries, etc.)

I've had several of those moments being 4 years out. The most recent was this past summer at the state fair. It made me so sad when I realized how much food had once been a part of my life and my day to day activities and it really can't be now. I saw all the taffy and mini donuts, and greasy fries and fried twinkies and really really wanted some of them all. Before I would have handled my sadness by stuffing my face but instead I shared my feelings with hubby who is my rock for sure. I reminded myself of how I always had to rely on the tram to get around all day and this time we walked and walked and never got tired. That's why my before picture lives on the frig too,so I am reminded daily of how much better life is at 117 than tired and miserable at 273. That constant reminder helps me make one good choice at a time. Lily and I have our 3.2 miles in already today and may walk around the block after supper too. Post op 4 years 2 months  and weight at 117.4 today. Here's the eats B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz pork loin 1/2 c lettuce salad at senior meal D 31/2 oz shrimp and 2 small seafood stuffed mushrooms S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar .  Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices too!

Karen you reminded me of how food was such a big part of my life pre surgery too with your example of going to the state fair.  There is TV show on the Food Network called Carnival Eats and the guy goes around to all different state fairs and tries some of the yummiest goodies there is, and every time I watch it I want to cry knowing I can't have it, not without getting really sick!! And how going somewhere like the state fair is now about the attractions not the food. So true, so true!

Keep up the awesome work my friend, give Lily an extra snuggle from me!

Seafood stuffed mushrooms sounds delish!! Enjoy!

Good foggy morning menu friends.  I am super happy I made it to the 160's!!!!! I never dreamed I would see those again much less in 7 months.  How crazy is that.

Time since surgery 7.5 months 169.8 this morning

QOTD- I had a moment when I wasn't sure what I needed to eat.  I was confused and scared.  Before WLS I had salads everyday and a ton  of other food and then I come to OH and we are having AMAW and I thought I could never just have a regular salad again.  So I messaged one of the vets and told  her how I was feeling.  She has helped me sooooo much.  So meltdown not so much but confused yes.  I think with the horrible advice my NUT and surgeon gives and then coming here it has helped tremendous.

B- 1 scrambled egg with a tsp of cheese

L- 8 oz Unsweetened Cashew milk and 1 scoop of Syntrax

D- 2 oz Kielbasa

S- Bacon bits

I hope everyone has a fantabulous day.
