Wow that is a long pre-op diet! I remember my pre-op diet - it was two weeks of liquids (broth, protein shakes, sugar free jello, greek yogurt) and then surgery, then 3 days of clear liquids and then two more weeks of liquids. I had surgery mid-December so I refer to December of that year as "the month I didn't chew). I did lose 12 lbs in my two week pre-op diet and I feel like it got my head into the game so I didn't have surgery and have to suddenly move to liquids. So though it's tough, stick it out! It's more than worth it in the end. My only regret is not having RNY sooner.
Also, I used to feel sad about favorite foods, thinking I would never have them again. I found great modifications for the first year or so post-op. Stromboli - you can use a Flat Out Light toasted in the microwave oven, with pizza sauce, cheese, and turkey pepperoni melted on top. Tacos are ground turkey with taco seasoning, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, on a fork. As I am further out now (3 years post-op) I can actually have pizza (2 pieces, not an entire pizza!) and tacos (2 tacos, not 6). I like your positive attitude - one step closer to surgery is a great way to look at this! So don't let the diet get you down - your new normal will be a healthier and happier you :)
Strong and determined....you've got this!!!! Good luck. You only have 20 days left! It will be here before you know it.

Holly smokes... 20 oz of milk is 30 gr of sugar each. Worse that most soda. You poor thing.. You drinking 90 gr of sugar a day. I would die.
This is the most crazy prop diet I ever see...
With so much sugar - I would be worried about infections and Candida.. (yeast)
Good luck..

Good morning everyone. I've been enjoying these lazy recovery mornings. Still some major discomfort in a couple surgery areas. I hope that's normal. I'll give it a day or two before calling the surgeon.
Daisy, I love seeing Tandoori Chicken on your menu. I love it and wondered if it would sit well. Also a new Indian restaurant opened down the street. I look forward to giving them a try it next year.
QOTD. I'm sure there will be times, but I hope I never forget how much life sucked over the last 5 years.
B. .5 cup Light and Fit greek yogurt
L .5 cup bone broth
D .5 cup thinned cream of wheat
2 post op shakes for snacks with pb2 That was a yummy addition yesterday
Maybe during the pureed stage you can try out their hummus... I lived on that stuff! Chicken is hard (for me) at the beginning... at 5.5 months, I'm only now getting comfortable eating it.
