Morning Menu posters! How is everyone? All is good here! Today is part 3 of Iron Infusion #2. Fingers crossed in a few weeks when I get blood work done I am seeing better numbers!
QOTD: Did you get to a point at anytime post surgery where you felt "I can't do this anymore?!" Menu fatigue, vitamin fatigue, weighing and measuring fatigue, logging on MFP fatigue. If you did what did you do to help you work through it? I sure did. I honestly can't remember if it was the end of year one or the end of year two (but I think it was end of year one for me) when I found myself standing in my kitchen crying my eyes out, I had my bin of vitamins about to measure them all out for the week, I had my food scale in front of me to weigh out my food for my lunch the next day and I just lost it. I was done! Done with all things WLS, vitamins, weighing, measuring, logging into MFP, reading stuff on OH, looking at sugar & carb amounts in foods at the grocery store, answering for the millionth time when someone asked me if I was "sick" because I had lost so much weight. Yes my friends I had a class A meltdown. Hubby (my rock, my everything) calmed me down. He said "tell me what you need from me, I can weigh out food for you, I can get your vitamins ready, I can read labels if you want, let me help you." And that's when it hit me, I did this to myself, getting MO and then to the point of needing WLS so this was no one else's journey but my own. If I was not willing to put my big girl pants on and get my head back in the game then I was not going to be successful. Although I welcomed hubby's help (and he helps me everyday) I realized I needed to do this for myself, to follow the "rules" and to make it just part of my day to day living, to fully embrace & accept this new post WLS life. I can tell you that once that happened it's like a "switch" was turned on and I just said "ok Daze, this is your life now, let's do this!" Now at 3 years post op its just routine, like I get up every day and shower and get dressed.
Yet again l liked my menu so much from yesterday that I am eating the same thing again! Yes I am that boring! LOL

Morning!
qotd: I'm still way to early out for that feeling, but I am positive it will happen at some point. In my experience, I think it's a pretty common reaction for anyone who has a chronic condition. I've met and worked with some type 1 diabetics, or folks with serious crones/cholitis etc who have all had moments like that.
Good luck with the iron transfusion! Hope it makes a difference!
menu:
B : protein shake
L: tuna
D Steak salad (ended up having drumsticks yesterday)
S: Greek yogurt if needed.
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning All!
I went to the gym this morning for the first time in ages! Can I get a medal, please? Haha. Actually, yesterday I ended my contract, but of course I still have one more pay cycle, so I have a month left to be able to use it. Here is what I learned this morning...I'm in terrible shape! I really struggled to run a mile, slowly. Dammit. All that hard work has gone away. Anyway, I'm going to join another gym in a month, somewhere that is more convenient. I'm just annoyed that I've let myself get out of shape again.
Ok, so that is my "fail" story of the morning, but here is my "win" story... Remember when Daisy and her hubby came to visit in July? She brought me some yummy chocolate treats from Canada. Last night I was cleaning out some cabinets and realized that 3+ months later, I still have about 1/2 of them. That, my friends, is the magic of RNY. There was not another time in my life when I would not have had those suckers literally YELLING my name. I can't believe that I actually forgot they existed.
For those who asked about last night's dinner--not so delish, after all :( It was okay, but missing some spice, but I'm not sure what. Here is a pic of the ingredients and the dish, so hopefully you can recreate it and make it better!
QOTD: Hmmm. I haven't had full meltdown moment, yet, but I have definitely had that moment in the grocery store or a restaurant when I am sick of being a bariatric patient, and decide that I want to be "normal". It never works. Eyes are bigger than my stomach or I get an RH reaction, so I get booted back to reality pretty quickly.
B: Fit Frappe protein espresso and sausage
S: 1/4 c almonds
L: catered lunch from work, so not sure, but probably either a salad or the insides of a deli sandwich
S: Hillshire Farms Chicken with Mango Sriracha
D: I haven't decided if I'm going home or to Grim's house after work?!
