Not sure if you are allowed carbonated water or caffeine, but I saw the bai bubbles on your list. Doesn't it have both?

Not all post op plans are the same but we were not allowed either.

Thanks for bringing it up. Apparently there are different bai concoctions. The one I have is mildly carbonated, 45 gm "nature's caffeine" (whatever that is!) - equivalent to a cup of green tea. Only 1 gm sugar per 11.5 fluid oz. My NUT gave it an ok, as long as I'm meeting my protein goals (which I do). I sip it over a couple of hours so it seems to be sitting ok. I appreciate you asking though - looking out for each other!

Welcome to the Menu board Terri!   Love your response that you like to be an happy upbeat person and it does not drive you to eat when you are mad, that is fantastic!  You have some really awesome strategies for coping and I love reading, gardening and listening to music as well.  It really is all about making yourself happy and soothing your soul, that's a huge win!!

Yay for puree's on Friday!

Do keep coming here and posting your menu so we can give you feedback and help answer any questions, we are all happy to help!

What does your Centre have you at for calories/protein & carbs for this far out of surgery?

Great on getting 2 miles in, you go girl!

Hope to see you around on the menu board!

Thanks Daisy - I've enjoyed the camaraderie on the board. My team hasn't specified any calorie goals or carb limits at this point. They are only stressing 50-70 grams of protein and at least 48 oz fluids for now. Haven't had any problem meeting either of those goals. Did you have calorie or carb restrictions?

Morning!

posting a little later than usual! I still have to catch up on yesterday's thread! Trick or treaters were fun last night at my sisters.

qotd: definitely both. I always knew I was a bit of stress eater. But the boredom I only realized when I was pre op. The number of times I'd open the fridge, when I knew I wasn't eating anything, or even hungry was a revelation!

Part of my challenge is also that cooking is a hobby/pastime for me as well. ( I also used to own a bakery...) so while I'm still interested in food, I try to make it about healthy eating, but more so, trying to keep it from being a focus in my life.

Im working on hobbies!

Menu:

b: protein shake

L: tuna salad

D: steak salad I think.

S: Greek yogurt if I need it.

I've started painting a bit. Mainly acrylics and some oil. I've also sewn a bit off and on and today I'm clearing out a space I can work on to get back into that. Also I've been playing with chalk paint and repainted some furniture. I also redecorated our guest room.  Now that I'm healing well, I'm hoping to get back into the gym and yoga too!

glad you had fun with the trick or treaters!  oh yes on the "number of times I open the fridge" even when you are not hungry.

Oh you will have to tell us more about your previous Bakery, what was your specialty? I had a Birthday Cake addiction pre surgery, well I love sweets (still do) and anything from a bakery would be amazing, but for sure hands down birthday cake is my fav! LOL

Great menu Insert, keep up the great work!

Good Morning! I have a half marathon to run on Sunday morning so I better remember to set my clock right or I will show up too early LOL.

QOTD: I am both! I have to stay out of kitchen in the evenings that's for sure. It is hard stuff! Sometimes I just have to occupy myself for 1/2 an hour because at that point I can start drinking water again. I am trying to pick up crocheting so maybe that will help too.

Time since surgery: 2 years, 2 months

B: SF latte, maple/brown sugar Oatfit and 2 turkey sausage links

L: Deli turkey, string cheese, boiled egg and carrots

S: SF latte and Siggi yogurt

D: Albacore tuna melt on ½ flat out, carrots and a boiled egg

E: 6 miles this morning and elliptical at lunch

V/W: On track

Totals: Cals:962 Protein:97 Carbs:80 Fat:30

Have a great one!
