Karen you are so successful and clearly have some awesome strategies for dealing with the eating/urge to eat. That is really awesome!
Unfortunately for me brushing my teeth does not work but you gotta do what ya gotta do right! Keep up the awesome work my friend!
Good Morning Everyone!!! It's still warm here in OK, highs in the mid 80's again today. I did hear the weather lady mention a high of 55, but I don't know when that is. I need to pay more attention to the weather!
And you can keep the time change! I like it just the way it is, and I wi**** would stay this way all year... Boo to coming home and it being dark out!
QOTD: I am probably more of a boredom eater than a stress eater... I need something to do with my hands and my mouth if I'm not engaged in something, then I really want to snack. When I'm stressed I tend to want to drink alcohol more... that's probably not a good thing! Hahaha! Of course, having our friends in town is driving my brain nuts with food cravings! They bought a HUGE bag of tortilla chips at SAMS yesterday (we still have other tortilla chips that I bought specifically for them in the pantry)... if this stuff is still here when they leave, I swear I'm bringing it all to work and putting it in the kitchen... the kitchen people eat anything
Weight: 175.8 again this morning...
B: Premier Protein Drink
L: chicken and egg fried 'rice' (cauliflower)... 2.5oz of the chicken/egg and then enough 'rice' to bring it to 4oz
D: Boys are 'treating us to pizza tonight'! I will eat 3.5oz of toppings (most likely off the one with chicken bacon and artichoke hearts on it)
S: I have a cheese stick in the fridge here, and beef jerky at home... not sure I'll need both

high 80s!! you southern people are killing me LOL LOL Time change sucks for sure!
You are really getting tested with having your friends over and all the food and temptation, great to be strong Pammie!
Pizza is a trigger food for me and now that I can't eat half a pizza it just does not hold the lure it did for me pre surgery, we never eat it anymore, and I miss pizza so much! LOL
love your lunch idea, good job on doing the "rice" cauliflower!
Keep up the great work Pammie, you will be in the 160's before you know it, you are so close!!!
at work so I'll have to read through these later..
QOTD: I'm not a huge stress eater. Sometimes, but not often. I think it might be because I started smoking at age 14, and that was the link I made with stress. Even though I quit over 20 years ago, I still think about cigarettes when I'm stressed out. Boredom eating - definitely. I was really struggling with that last night, in fact. I ate way too much protein ice cream (because I was bored), so my total calories ended up being around 1400. Yikes! That's about the highest I've ever gone since surgery. I *can't* let that happen again. I ended up pulling out my adult coloring books, and that did the trick, fortunately... I just have to find things to keep my hands or mind busy when I'm bored, evidently..
17 months out:
B: L&F vanilla yogurt with added protein powder, 10 raspberries, 1 T flax seed, 1 T Kashi Crunch granola
S: coffee with half & half, protein shake
L: 1 C cottage cheese
D: pork stir fry (meat & veggies only - no rice)
probably another Greek yogurt later on today or this evening
Like you and Karen, I too started adult coloring books as a passtime! It helps with focus, which i need for my anxiety. Really relaxing!

Glad you were able to get out your colouring books and handle the boredom eating, that's a win!
Are you glad to be back home? How is your Dad doing? It must be nice to be back to your family and routine.
QOTD: Stress eater, boredom eater, yes to both. Worst emotion to drive eating response is anger - I just stuff it in. Don't feel the urge to eat when I'm happy so it helps that I'm generally a pretty upbeat and optimistic person. What I've done to change my response to negative emotions is to make iTunes playlists that can boost my mood to a better place - I pop in the ear buds and go for a walk, singing as I go, never mind that I'm off key - doesn't matter who can hear me :) When I'm sad or anxious, I meditate - usually use a guided meditation from you tube or take a walk in the meditation garden at my church (I love that place). Sometimes I go to the library and walk the rows, curl up on a cozy chair, and read kids books. Sometimes I go to a garden nursery or botanical garden, some place with plants, flowers, etc. or just go on a nature walk. These things soothe my soul and make me at peace and happy.
Saw the MD yesterday, great check up but no early release from full liquid monotony. Get to move to pureed on Friday. So today's boring menu is:
B - muscle milk protein shake - 32 g protein, 11 oz
S - bai bubbles peru pineapple - 11 oz
L - strained Amy's Thai coconut soup - 8 oz
S - diet cranberry juice on ice - 8 oz
D - GNC total lean gingerbread shake - 25 g protein, 12 oz
S - SF hot chocolate made with skim milk - 8 gm protein, 8 oz
Total = 65 gm protein, 58 fluid ounces
E - 2 loops around the neighborhood = 2 miles
Have a great day my new friends!
