Good morning! Well I resisted all treats and candy after my candy corn/peanut debacle yesterday, so yay me. As to the QOTD--I never thought I was a stress eater before surgery, just didn't see it. But apparently I was, because when my stress has been amped up lately I have had a lot of anxiety and angst that I'd never experienced before. I attribute that to not being able to "eat my feelings", which has in retrospect been my "go to" way to handle high stress. It all makes sense because I've had stressful jobs for years that I've always said "didn't bother me", but I guess in reality I was just using food as my coping mechanism.

B- irish tea w/sf creamer, 1 egg, spinach, mozz

Its interesting right to take a look back and see our pre surgery behaviours.  My boredom eating has been around my whole life, surgery did not go away just because I had WLS that's for sure.

Glad you had a better evening after the candy corn & peanuts!  I really love your insight to how before you always said "it didn't bother me" when in fact food was your coping mechanism, great to have discovered that about yourself!

great menu and great stats!!

So much this! I remember going on diets, having low grade anxiety and a dr looking at me like I had two head when I suggested that the tightness in my chest was because I was eating healthy hahaha.

I'm glad i'm not the only one! I was definitely a stress eater, as my anxiety is barely manageable since surgery. Infact I just went on lexapro last week. Still waiting for it to kick in.  Before surgery, i had very mild to non-existent anxiety that I could handle, but now i realize it was sugar and carbs keeping it at bay! Interesting, isn't it?

Happy November morning everyone. Today is suppose to be another warm day so I am super happy!

Last nights trick or treating festivities may have included one tootsie pop sucker. And it was GOOD! But then it made me light headed so ...

QOTD- Holy smokes I am a stress eater. I think I should eat if I am stressed, any family member is stressed, heck I think I should eat if the dog is stressed. After last week I came to terms with it and said my gosh this has to stop! So when I felt the need to go to the kitchen I would fill my cup up with water and a lot of ice. I would eat on the ice.

Time since surgery 7 3/4 months 170 this morning. The scale is toying with my emotions

B- 8 oz unsweetened Cashew milk with 1 scoop of snytrax

L- 2 oz Chicken breast with a drizzle of Olive Garden dressing

D- 2 oz Hamburger patty with A1

S- Meat of some kind

I hope everyone has a fantabulous day!

Enjoy your warm day DG!  I can't remember the last time I had a tootsie pop. I love tootsie rolls and now you have me craving them LOL

You are too funny (even if the dog is stressed), its great you recognize this early and can help develop good coping mechanisms now, and going and filled up your cup with ice water is a fantastic way to beat the urge to eat, good for you!

Oh my you are sooo close to the 160s, that is amazing!  Love your lunch idea, Olive Garden anything yummmmmm!

Have a great day!

Brrrrr, really cold here this am, time to wear shoes when out on the deck to feed the cats!!

QOTD: The only thing that ever took my appetite away was morning sickness!! Stress, boredom, you name it I'll eat!!!   Still fighting those battles post-op!! I do get the runny nose when I'm "full" and starting to recognize a crampy sensation in my upper back as well. Right now the memory I have of pain from eating too fast and a dumping episode at approx. week 3 keep me in line! Seeing the scale move in the right direction is a great encouragement, as well as the support from all of you!!   :D  No newbie effects for me Daisy  :(

Time out from bypass: 7 weeks+

B: Coffee w/ SF Coffee-mate and miralax, left over roast chicken

L: starkist lemon pepper pack w/low fat mayo

D: left over grilled kielbasa (yum!!)

I think we have quite similar weather Pat, Fall has arrived and Winter will be here before you know it. Do you get bad winters in RI?

I LOL'd at your "morning sickness" that's too funny!

When I am "full" I burp, like loud and its kind of embarrassing so I try not to let it get there!  I am glad you are keeping your "eyes on the prize" so to speak. It sucks that you had the dumping and pain but at the same time its a great reminder of what not do to!  This whole journey is trial & error and you are right by seeing the scale move down it certainly is a big motivator!!

Fantastic menu, look at that, single digit carbs (9!!) go you!! Super proud how much you are rocking this Pat, keep up the great work!

And yup kielbasa is the bomb right!! I am putting that on my grocery list for this weekend, I have been known in the past to cut four slices and pan sear them on high in a non stick pan, and eat with SF ketchup or horseradish!! Yummmmmm
