What's on your Menu today (Spooky Monday) RNYers?
Good morning Morning Daisy and menu crew! Happy Halloween. We had a good weekend, casino bus trip on Friday night ( Won - $0)...LOL...Saturday celebrated my sons 21st birthday and went to a college Hockey game and Sunday I went to the gym in the morning, officiated a youth hockey game in the afternoon and Played hockey last night. I am dragging today.
QOTD - I did not start exercising until about 6 months post op and as I started I only did cardio. I took on weight training at about 9 months post op. I do cardio or work out at least 4-6 times a week. I try to take a minimum of one day off a week. I enjoy exercise, I do not use exercise to offset poor food choices, exercise is my thing now, If I go a couple of days without it, I am antsy and anxious.
B - Protein Bar
S - Buddig ham and caramel apple pie greek yogurt
L - left over pot roast'
S - cheese and salami
D - Baked Cod in garlic butter
Exercise - None - going to hand out little bags of pretzels and animal crackers...no candy bars....LOL...we live in a development that is about a 1/2 mile circle, we get a ton of trick or treaters...we get enough goodies for 300 kids and shut the lights off when we run out...
Stay healthy my friends....Mike

I enjoy exercise- especially boot camp style classes and the 21 day fix. But I've been discouraged time and again by what I can't do. So I'm really looking forward to post-op and actually being able to bent and stretch
RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
Good morning, barely!
QOTD: I swim. I love swimming. I only got cleared to swim about a week ago because a stitch had migrated outside an incision, so healing was slow. Also, I have osteoarthritis and can barely walk. so exercise has been a near-nothing for me until recently. I think moving is the key to feeling better, so I am excited about that.

I have to report that I have been experimenting with carbs. My dietician suggested that I would feel better if I upped them. For dinner last night I was feeling very NOT hungry so I made a Syntrax cappuccino smoothie with banana. A whole banana. (1) my blood sugar shot up and is still 150. (2) I felt like I had low blood sugar all night, very shaky. And I felt terrible this morning. There you have it. Back to low carb life for me.
Be careful with those carbs! I hope you're feeling better as the day goes on!

Working really hard today to stick to protein. I think it is clear that bananas are no longer a part of my life
Trick or Treat menu crew!
Your dogs look so cute! I've often thought about getting a dog. A little tiny motivator that I can get snuggly with later seems a nice way to get me out there moving & a little less lonely too.
I do exercise, & I luv the feeling I get by being more active. In fact I'm kinda missing it now since I've been laid up & can't wait to get back into my old routine. Not being able to exercise just reminds me too much of my pre op days. It's a release for me, & not doing it makes me feel pent up & puts me back on the road to turning to food for a release. Not something I'm crazy about going back to. So yeah I like to exercise, mostly bike riding.
Post op I started slowly. I was going to the gym back then on a regular, but I started to get bored, plus parking was becoming a real pain in the ass & depending on the time, it'd get incredibly crowded, like everyone chose that moment to work out, got tired of waiting on weights/exercise machines. So I started going outside more & I really like it! Bought clothes for the various seasons & tried to stay outdoors for as long as possible. I hate that its getting darker sooner & longer, & its getting cold to boot.
Sheesh 3 degrees?, frost? oh I'm not looking forward to that, but I know its coming.
Menu? Hell if I know, its Halloween & I'd be fooling myself if I didn't admit to being way off, but not too far off today. lol

Good afternoon. Man did I get sick last night. I wondered what a dump would feel like. Don't want that again. I might have eaten too fast or a little too much. Going slow today.
QOTD. I actually did my first real exercise today. Walked at the hospital for a f/u (pushing a wheel chair vs getting a push) then went to trader joes. My wife was shocked as I haven't been in a store for over 2 years. Things are definitely changing.
