What's on your Menu today (Spooky Monday) RNYers?
QOTD: I usually do pretty well with exercise (I like water-based things like swimming, water aerobics, and Aqua Zumba, as well as (non-water-based things like) TRX and yoga), but I didn't exercise all that much while I was in North Carolina for the last four weeks. I only went about to the YMCA there about once a week - although I was way more active than usual since I wasn't sitting behind a desk all day. Walking here and there, going up and down stairs several times a day, etc. Now that I'm back home, I'm going to try to mix it up. Maybe try some new cardio classes. Definitely go back to yoga, though. And maybe try some new strength-training activity (in addition to weights and TRX). But I definitely want to get back to exercising 4-6 days a week. I don't know if it helps with my weight loss, but it makes me feel a lot better.
I have my in-person interview for the Well-Being study I mentioned earlier at noon today. Among other things, they're going to stick me in an MRI machine to see if I can handle it. Shouldn't be a problem - I've had two MRI's before and tolerated it just fine. I hope I pass with flying colors and get selected for the study!!!
17 months out
B: Chobani pumpkin yogurt with added protein powder, 1 T flax seeds, 1 T Kashi Crunch granola
S: homemade protein pumpkin latte

D: probably grilled cod & cole slaw with miso-sesame vinaigrette again (I'm a bit calorie-heavy today, and this meal is pretty low-cal)

Good Luck with the study! I hope they pick you too!

Good morning gang, and Happy Halloween. I have been MIA because of work related issues lately. I worked all weekend and finally have today off. We finished Kal's halloween costume, finally last night, and I'm just hoping he'll be patient enough to wear it today.
DD2QOTD: I didn't do much exercise other than walking until I was about 7 months post op, and then I found that bootcamp class at the local gym. I loved it, but I had to leave when I left my last job because of financial issues. I haven't really done anything since then, but I want to go back.
On another note, I officially accepted the job offer last Thursday. In my talk with the recruiter, I asked for a certain amount and she felt comfortable with that amount. Then when she called me with the offer, they came in with MORE than what I asked for. So, there's that for a girls ego, lol. My official start date is November 14th. My manager at Joann's was on vacation and just came back today, so I have yet to put my notice in, but I have to do it today.
I got to dress up both Saturday and Sunday at work, and took my selfies in the stock room. Here's my weekend.
I don't have a plan for food today, at least not put into MFP, but this is my rough estimate
almost 15 months post op
B: Umm, coffee with SF coffeemate. I literally slept until 10am with the kid since he was up in the middle of the night last night
L: something yummy. I'm thinking turkey lunch meat with mayo and tomatoes on half a flat out
D: Spaghetti squash with meat sauce
S: probably some halloween candy.
I don't have totals because I'm not that motivated yet.
It's doing the same thing I was doing at my old job, but for a different company. The difference is that I'll be working on only 1 account exclusively, and they are paying me 33% more than I was making at my old company with yearly bonuses on top of that. It's probably the only thing that could have gotten me to go back into the business. I will be working on-site at one the headquarters of one of the largest auto companies in the world.
The kitty is really cute, but I think I'm loving the nerd look on ya

Hi Menu gang! Happy Halloween. I kept my promise of not toughing Halloween candy yesterday-- won't promise the same today though-- but I'll be good till after we shut the lights off for the evening :-)
QOTD: Exercise is very important to me. Its what completes the circle of having RNY to lose weight AND become healthy. I don't want to just be thin-- I want heart health and strength. I took my time in getting started, but once I did, and found a sustainable cycle of exercises I enjoy, its become second nature. I do a combination of activities 4X/week: run 2-3X a week, circuit training, weights, elliptical bike and stair stepper. I've been trying to add a 5th day of home-based exercise but I'm so used to my off days being 'off' its hard to get motivated.
I've noticed my hubby seems to be a bit more 'protective' of me lately. This weekend he had to let me out to pick things up at stores where he couldn't find parking. It would have been an in/out quick thing for me both times-- but I noticed rather than just wait for me, he parked and came in behind me. He actually startled me when I saw him since he never does that. I usually tell him the tales of when men hit on me- to reassure him that I don't take it the least be seriously-- but I'm wondering if telling him is what's rifling his feathers? Men are odd.
