Miralax wasn't doing it for me, so my surgeon switched me over to metamucil.  I drink it at night and only use 1/2 the recommended dose.  It works well for me

Hope you continue to feel better. I take my miralax in the evening and I also take a probiotic daily.

Ok fly by for me today. I'm going to NYC on Wednesday!!!! so excited but need to figure out my clothing situation and pack! so feel free to throw out suggestions of things to see and do there because I've never been!!

Went to a corn maze yesterday and met up with a friend from middle school. she brough her 4 month old who slept during the maze strapped to her while we caught up.

QOTD: I started walking about 5 weeks out around subdivision, which led to running, yoga and sometimes recumbent bike when the weather is bad. I'm having a hard time deciding if I LOVE running or just 'do it' for the challenge of breaking my records and improving. Not sure but still thinking on it. i do however LOVE yoga. It clears my mind and makes me feel strong and amazing. I don't belong to a gym but there is one here that I can commit to for a year for $20 that has aqua classes which i think i would love, plus yoga and pilates and zumba. So i might just suck it up and try it out. I just really hate paying to exercise but it is getting colder and i will need to figure something out and there is no more FREE YOGA at the studio :(

Here is a pic of doxie we had to put down 4 years ago. We dressed him as a lobstar and he was soo sweet. he was an awesome pup but had cushings and his body just was in pain. He was very sweet and was not a characteristic doxie, not a barker and very loving

Food:

trying so delicious unsweet coconut milk yogurt wirh 1/2 scoop protein and 1/2 tbl chia and SF torani

also decaf with unsweet almond milk

menu up in air at moment- i have roast left and tons of eggs from chicken sitting so likely will have those.

RIP little Doxie, he is such a cutie. I love the Lobster costume, adorable!  Hope you have an amazing trip to NYC and safe travels!

A corn maze would scare the crap out of me, I am a big chicken so that would not be happening!! Good for you!

Did I read that right that you can join a gym for $20 a year?  Ummmmm get your tiny butt over there and sign up!  That's amazing!  I have done aqua zumba before and its amazing, such a good workout!  Go for it!

$20 a month is super cheap, too.  I belong to the YMCA, which is the cheapest comprehensive place in town.  We pay $77 a month for a family membership.   I think an individual membership is around fifty-something a month.

Ooh, have fun in NYC! Native New Yorker here so there's plenty to do & see. I haven't done the tourist thing. I'm so used to everything here. Download the NYC tourist type apps, it'll tell you what fairs are happening at the moment & sites to visit.

There's the World Trade Center, Empire State Bldg. Various museums like the Guggenheim & Moma , if your into fashion there are fashion districts, same with diamonds, plants, etc. There's Little Italy & Chinatown. Canal St is kinda the main street that separates the 2. You literally can walk across the street & immediately see the difference in culture there.

You can get on one of those tourist buses that will let you get on & off at your leisure to visit the various sites.

Don't limit yourself to just Manhattan, the outer boroughs has plenty to offer. Have to give props to Brooklyn. The Dumbo area gives a great view of the Manhattan skyline, plenty of shops downtown Brooklyn. Prospect Park has some nice fall foliage at this time of year & plenty of places to rent a bike(citibike). Brooklyn Museum & Coney Island is nice too.

Definitely get yourself a train map & metro card. Cabs are way too pricey & the city is very congested. You can go from the train to the bus on 1 fare. Way way cheaper than a cab, or use Uber.

Have fun!

if you're into walking tours, Big Onion offers some really good ones.  We've been on several.   Also, this is really tourist-y, but fun - the Staten Island Ferry.  It's free.  It goes from Lower Manhattan (near Ground Zero) to Staten Island and back again (we just get right back on once we get to Staten Island).  Great, great view of the Manhattan skyline from the ferry.  Big Onion tours site is:

Happy Halloween menu friends!! It is suppose to be hot hot hot here today.  85 is the high such crazy weather.  My family has been going thru some crazy things this past week hopefully the crazy non sense is behind us.  I hate drama and turmoil and all that yucky stuff.  But I have learned in the past week no matter how crazy our lives are we can not comfort with food so everything happens for a reason.

I can not wait to try some of the crock pot menus everyone posted.  That was a great idea Daisy.

QOTD- I have walked since day one of surgery (it was only to the end of my drive way but then I added a little bit each day.)  I know theres controversy  over the value of exercise after WLS.  I feel it helps me be accountable if nothing else and I just feel better when I do exercise.  I walk 4 miles and I do Zumba.  I rotate between the two.

Time since surgery 7 months 171 again this morning. Dang water!

B- 1/2 Scrambled egg and 1 pc. of bacon

L- 2 oz 90/10 Hamburger patty with A1 sauce

D- 2 oz Grilled Chicken

S- Probably 1/2 a protein shake because my protein levels have ben horrible this past week

I hope everyone has an amazing Halloween!
