Good morning Menu Trick or Treaters, Happy Halloween!  How is everyone? All is good in my world.  Woke up to frost all over my car and temps are 3 (30F) but "feels like" -2 (27F), crazy weather I tell you!  Everyone who has little kids or Grandkids are you all set & ready for the trick or treaters tonight? We are!  Thank you to everyone who took the time on Friday to post your Crock Pot recipe and Halloween pics, you all are the best and I got some awesome ideas for meals!

QOTD: Thoughts on exercise post WLS? Do you exercise? I didn't start "formal" exercise until I was about 7 months post op, I was just a few pounds away from my goal weight and I wanted to exercise but was not really sure how to start. I had been walking and hiking with my dogs since about 6 weeks post op but nothing formal like in a gym. In June 2014 (when I was 7mos post op) we had new neighbours move in next door, a young couple in their early 20s, while I was out one day gardening I saw the girl in workout clothes come out of her house, we chatted and she said she was off to step class at the gym around the corner from us (I had no idea there was a gym around the corner from us!) and did I want to come? I told her yes but needed to buy workout clothes & shoes so get me next time. So I think we went together a few days later and then I was hooked!  It felt soooo good to be able to move my body and enjoy myself!  I was going to the gym 6 days a week and then hiking the dogs after, yes it became my cross addiction. I didn't use the exercise for weight loss but it sure did tone me up a lot. So much that the neighbour I was going with and she had no clue I had WLS complimented my legs saying I had such strong muscular legs, ummm who me????? So you all know I hike my dogs daily now and I still go to the gym, and I love to run now and it feels so good to just to know I can move my body without pain and I personally love the emotional & mental release that I get going to the gym!

Good morning Daisy!

Ok my weight is just stuck in a high place post surgery last week. I'm not sure why, because I've generally had very little appetite and my calories have been low. But to be honest all my nutrition has been low-- I had very little protein last week and averaged fewer than 35g a day... So today I'm switching it up and I'm going to try to eat a lot more calories and see if getting in more nutrients helps get these stubborn 3lbs off.

QOTD: Ahhhh. Sore spot question for me... I did the opposite from you. I started really strong with exercise and was going to the gym, hiking and running every day. I felt good. I felt strong. Then I got busy :( I've been simply awful about getting in even my basic goal of 10,000 steps a day, let alone doing any cardio or strength training. I've got to get some new routines that I can make habit forming, because I'm going to need the calorie burn and the healthy habits more now than ever, as I get further from my 1 year mark.

B: protein coffee and hard boiled egg

S: 1/4 c almonds and 2 babybel cheese

Are you talking about the thick sliced roasted Turkey breast? Not cold cuts? That is my favorite. Nice and moist....

Hope you are feeling better and can get your protein up, its really hard when you are not feeling well!

Its super hard when we are all so busy with work, life events to make the gym or exercise a priority.  I think it would really benefit you for the emotional and mental release, you work so hard and such long hours it might be something to "work on"  Good luck girl!

Love your lunch idea!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN Everyone!

Why can't ghosts have babies?  Answer:  Because they have hollow weenies!  LOL!

Daisy, I just want to hug Amy and Oliver so bad!!!  They are SO adorable in their jester's collars!

Saralisa has to work tonight, but she went to a Halloween party Saturday night.  She was a tin lady, like the tin man in Wizard of Oz, only a female version.  You can't see it very well in the picture, but she has an oil can for a hat.

I will have candy for the Trick or Treaters who come to our house tonight.  I hope everyone has a FUN Halloween!

QOTD:  So far all I do for exercise is take my dogs for a walk daily around our subdivision.

My menu:

B:  crepe, peaches, cream cheese, cool whip

L:  lettuce, spinach, 2 h.b. eggs, cheese, bacon, low cal dressing

D:  hot dog w/ cheese or chili

S:  Light n Fit Greek yogurt

S:  Moon cheese or Mr. Cheese O's

Exercise:  Walking the dogs around the subdivision

Have a SPOOKTACULAR Halloween everybody!

Thanks!    She has silver eye shadow on her face, but in the picture you can't really see it,  it just looks like her face is kind of greasy.
