What's on your Sunday menu, RNYers?
Good morning! I love a Lazy Sunday... football and making more protein ice cream for me today.
QOTD: Wuss here. I do not do cold well. Since surgery I am so cold. We have a heat pump, furnace, and propane fireplace, which will all be used when necessary, even in July. For my birthday, I got two sweaters and a nice warm long sleeved outfit... yay for warm and cozy!
B: premier protein canilla with coffee, omelette with avocado and cheese
L: 2/3 c cottage cheese with sf blackberry jam
D: poached egg with cheese
S: LEftover steak salad, Syntrax grapefruit, calcium chew x2
Totals: 578 calories, 60 protein 22 carbs 28 fat
Ground beef is a no-go for me still, as is ground turkey, chicken. Also regular chicken is almost impossible. Only meat that is tolerable is a very lightly cooked skirt steak, and rare roast beef. Have to be able to chew it up completely. I tried steak at Chipotle and chewed for quite a while before I realized that it would not work ;). But I have to say the rare skirt steak was so good.
It is a hit and miss game... i can't eat tuna fish, or scrambled eggs, or most fish really. Recent hits are scallops and shrimp. No clue as to the reasoning behind it! We just have to try, try, try. You'll get there!
Honestly ground beef or anything 'ground' for that matter tends to be drier and more rubbery when you cook it. Better to try a small piece of steak and cut it in to very small pieces and chew well. In the beginning I cut my steak the size of pencil erasers, and never had a problem.

I too am posting from my warm, snuggly bed, with the heat on! I have a pretty lazy Sunday planned. I will go visit my Dad this afternoon, and since that takes me past Sak's Off 5th Ave, well, you know... Shopping!
QOTD: I don't have any rules around the furnace, other then I don't like to be cold. So, if it's cold in August, the heat is coming on. I have a gas fireplace, and it is so efficient thT when I have it on, it keeps the furnace off.
