Light headed
i am 2 1/2 years out from RNY. the last week, twice now I have had to stop for an errand after work. I work til 5pm. On my way home both times, I got really lightheaded like I needed to eat. I had eaten Chex mix, I know not a good choice both days at about 3:30ish. If I kept my head still I was okay. It's when I turned my head to check for traffic it bothered me. When I got, home I got something to eat and was better. Just weird seeing I had eaten like 2 hours before. Any ideas why this is happening?
It's almost certainly Reactive Hypoglycemia. It's very common beginning a year or two after WLS. It happens when you eat too many crappy simple carbs, like Chex mix. It sends your blood sugar high, very briefly, and then really low.
Lay off the simple carbs. If you focus on protein with some fats, this won't happen.

Probably as a result of the eating choice but get a check-up and your labs done (be sure they are a full bariatric panel with iron & ferritin, B12) because lightheaded + driving...
Carry a protein forward, non refrigerated snack can you have on-hand versus the Chex mix... I carry almonds and protein bar "cookies" http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2015/07/quest -protein-bar-cookies.html with me at all times... here's a few other ideas: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2015/10/healt hy-travel-tips-keeping-your-health.html
Be sure you are drinking water too.
Hope it is an easy fix and all is well,
