I had surgery Wednesday and just got home. I had a DVT a year ago, so bridging off and back onto warfarin added a day. The experience was great, but I had one nurse that was making me anxious. I didn't pass gas until today late. She kept saying "did you pass it yet? You need to pass, are you trying? But don't push." Then my blood pressure shot up (I joked that she made it go up) and I thought she was going to have a stroke. I was trying to calm her saying I've had htn for 15 years. I'm not taking my pills. What do you think is going to happen? Other than that 12 hour shift, everyone was great. I even thought the broth tasted great and they had sugar free bomb pops. Nuff said ;)
Well I look forward to learning and contributing. Have a nice evening
Congratulations! Hospitals are an interesting place! I had a slow heartbeat and low oxygen saturation and nurses were going crazy every time my monitors went off, which was about every nine minutes.
Walking will help that gas get moving. Sugar free bomb pops? Sound wonderful!

Thanks. Got lots of walks in today. At my weight I have some limited mobility. But it did lead to some minor activity today ;)
The bomb pops were pretty good. The hospital had an on demand food ordering number. Not sure if this was just for bariatrics, but the broth came up scalding hot. After 7 weeks of sugary shakes preop, that tasted great. I had my wife sample it to see if it was good as I thought. She said it was.

Man that was the best sleep but I need a gas x. Wow. My digestive system definitely is waking up ;)
A lot of SF stuff can have Sugar alcohols...(SA) . Those chemicals can give anyone wicked gas... Maka sure the SF bombs don't have any. If they do - skip it. Not worth the trouble.
I can't even chew SF gum...
