What's on your Menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
Glad to see your post and those of others who are getting advice from their teams that is questionable. I like my team and have gotten lots of good advice but every now and then I think "huh? wha...?" I have my first post op eval on Monday and have heard it's all about nutrition. I am so so ready to move to getting at least pureed foods.

QOTD: Did have farina and mashed potatoes on my puree menu. Also I was told my B-12 was normal even though I was having symptoms. And it was low normal... I needed it higher. Wouldn't have know that except for here. .. and Vit D was literally at the bottom acceptable number but "oh you are fine"... and of course my pain from the hernia for a year that I was being told the pain was because I was eating too much or too fast... yet in that same year I was 'eating too much' I lost 165 lbs.
at a conference breakfast . They had eggs and bacon- yay!
Menu very unknown next two days brought bars, premier protein etc to back up whatever's happening.
Thsnks for the love over the accident... I definitely feel better on Meds, but I am believing nothing long term.

Hey ya'll
Things are good today- busy with meetings- back to back!
QOTD; I don't have the same iron story as others. I was born with a Mediterranean blood disease which makes my iron low so I have been anemic all my life. Luckily the surgeon referred me out to a hematologist early in the process who gave me iron about 6 months before surgery to build up reserves. It has been about 15 months since then and haven't had to have another one which is great. So my answer would have to be about the carbs... My mail plan allowed cream of wheat and oatmeal which I ate early on until a vet told me to drop it out. So I did.
b: protein panckaes/decaf/miralax/almond milk
L: egg whites/turkey ground
D: not sure
S: wow my menu sucks but there is food to eat
going to grocery after work.
Morning Gang. It looks like you got my yesterday's weather, since that is what it was like here. Today, we're having a warming trend, and it's 47f here right now (around 8c), and rainy. It feels wonderfully balmy compared to yesterday. My hubby has been gone all week. He is driving back today, has to work locally here for the afternoon. He plans to stop in and repack a bag (and visit with us for about an hour) then he has to drive to Kentucky tonight so he can work there tomorrow and then drive home tomorrow afternoon. I kinda miss him, lol.
I'm really, really frustrated this morning as I try to type this post. My cat, Winston, will not leave me alone. He is so persistent with his snuggles that I keep pushing him away thinking that he'll get it, but he just comes right back. He's currently headbutting my side with is cold kitty nose trying to get me to pet him. It's adorable and annoying at the same time. Uuggh.
QOTD: I think it has to be the advice from my NUT about eating crackers and that type of thing. I'm a cracker-aholic and can't allow myself any, because I can't control my portion size. Also, when I had my 1 year follow up, I was talking with my surgeons PA and she was upset because I didn't eat potatoes. I had to explain to her that I can't eat potatoes like a normal person would, it's just not something I am capable of.
Okay, as for my plan for the day, it is not complete. I literally got out of bed about half an hour ago and made a pot of coffee. I have a call today with someone about a job going back into my old line of work, and funny thing is that I received an email yesterday from another company that does the same type of work here locally. They noticed on LinkedIn that I had left my job in July and want to talk to me about a position with them. I'll talk to him, but I'm familiar with the culture at that company and I'm not sure that I'm willing to go there. I guess it will be how much they are willing to pay me.
So, here is my incomplete plan for the day:
B: eggs and bacon. Coffee with sugar free coffeemate
L: shrimp ****tail
D:? I have to pull something for tonight. I'll probably pull out some chicken breast here in a bit.
S: I haven't really been snacking that much. I have a bunch of running around to do this afternoon, so we'll see how it goes.
I'll update later with the totals once I get everything set. I've gotta go get my kid up, it's after 9 and he's still sleeping.
Just remember on that whole work culture thing... sometimes all the money in the world doesn't make up for a crappy work environment... remember your happiness has to be considered right up there with the almighty dollar...
OK, and I hope the phone interview goes great this morning, that company has a rocking work culture, and wants to pay you to the moon and back!!! Then the other job won't matter one bit :)

When I am working in my home office, I put Layla's bed on the desk next to me. She just wants to be near me, so that usually stops the nuzzling behavior and she snuggles down next to me in her bed. Plus, it is just so darned cute!
