It will get better! Small sips and short walks to start.

Congratulations on being on the other side!  It gets better... first few days were the worst for me.  Walk, sip, and rest!

I always suggest walking as much as possible as soon as possible.  I think it helps everything . Listen to your body, do what you can, get lots of rest

Ice chips were easier for me at first. As much as you don't want to try to get sips and walking in. The more the better.

One day after major surgery - you are breathing and walking.  Hurray - it will get better,

I know we are all here saying "it does get better" and it probably seems impossible to you now but it really does "get better".

I also did not "bounce back" like some do after surgery, I had a lot of pain, a lot of exhaustion and was just plain overwhelmed.  Come here often, check in with us, and ask questions. We all did this and know what you are going through.

Walk as much as you can, even if its from you kitchen to your living room.  Sip your water and protein shake, all day long, it will feel like a full time job and its hard but you can do it.

Best of luck, it does get better, actually it gets amazing!

This sounds right.  I am completely overwhelmed. Managing the pain has been the most difficult part; there seemed to be some confusion and I felt like I was being pushed to heal faster then I was. But they just gave me some IV pain meds, I went on a nice walk, and already feel much better. My focus today is walking and using the inspiration volume thingy. I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about lol. Can't wait to start soaking up the benefits from all of this.
