Drinking after 30 minutes
I wish I would feel full with 2.5 oz I'm taking 4 oz solid meat and struggle to stay away from food. I don't want to add veggies yet. I feel like my pouch is a little bigger and don't want to over fill fearing stretching.??!! I'm not even sure this makes sense??

That sounds frustrating. I'm sorry you're dealing with hunger.

My nut told me to eat 3 ozs at each meal of protein, no puree straight meat. The vets here told me not to do it because it was too much. I could not get 3 ozs in no matter how.hard I tried. I'm lucky if I can get 1 oz in. I hate eating, nothing is appealing to me and I feel sick after just a few bites of anything. It's so depressing, I am constantly forcing myself to eat. Funny how we all ended up do different after surgery.
Hopefully this all works out for us

Well, I'm not a vet & I didn't have the rny, but I noticed even now depending on what I ate & how its cooked, along with the amount, I'd stay full past the hour mark.
It looks like you're very early in your post op life so you might still be healing/still swollen, if you can't drink till after an hour, then wait. It's a real balancing act in the beginning to get all your protein & your water, but eventually you'll get the hang of it.

Waiting 30 minutes to drink is my rule I don't break. I think it's an essential one. It was very hard early on to balance the fluid and food. At your stage I might cut back a little on the tuna. You are going to have a lifetime to get this one right. Early on it's about the healing of your pouch and then learning how it's gonna work for you. There are meals that I have to wait much longer to drink after and this far out that's a very good thing.
Keep asking questions.
I'm a year out tomorrow (amazing how fast it went) and I'm still keeping my meat serving to 2 oz and sometimes that is all I can eat. Other days I can eat my 2 oz with no problem and will then fill in the edges with a few bites of green veggies or something like cauliflower rice. No room for anything else. I do find I can usually drink about 30 minutes later without too much trouble... but chicken hangs in there for a long time (not beef or pork) and will have to wait longer to get back to my normal fluid consumption.
I definitely had to and still have to wait sometimes longer than 30 minutes with certain foods. At first it bothered me but now I realize that certain foods just stick in my stomach longer. I always wait the 30 minutes but beyond that I just wait until I feel like it's ok to drink. When I was earlier out I would pu**** and think I could drink at the 30 mark no matter what and that made me get sick a few times. Now I pay attention more and wait to when it seems right.
