Drinking after 30 minutes
I've always waited to drink after eating for 30 minutes. Now that I'm eating tuna and ground meats etc. I can't drink for sometimes over an hour or so. Otherwise I get reflux or feel over full. Is that normal? Am I eating too much at the meal? It's usually 2-2.5 oz of tuna or ground meats when this happens. Or do I just need to plan on waiting longer? It's not an issue with yogurt or cottage cheese. Thanks, Norma

That is a lot. 2 ounces of any meat really fills me up... but cottage cheese and yogurt just slide right on through. I think that is the idea with meat. It stays with us ;)
I'm just trying to figure out why I can't drink for so long.

Because that meat is still in your pouch... are you nauseated only if you drink? Maybe you should try eating a bit less. I am two weeks ahead of you and I think 2-1/2 ounces would overfill me. And I just became able to tolerate any mest or fish recently... maybe vets will weigh in.
It's hard for me to feel when I'm full. I think I'll try cutting back.

I'm a newbie as well, so listen to the veterans. My understanding is the fluid takes up valuable space that should be for protein foods. Plus you want to stay full for as long as possible, so you don't get in the habit of eating too much. The drinking will push the food through causing you to get hungry faster. That's what I under stood to be the reasons to wait 1 hr after eating before you drink.

Waiting an hour is fine. If I eat something really dense, I need to wait an hour, still. With slider foods, I can drink right away. That's the magic of debse protein. It keeps you full longest.

I often wait an hour or more depending on what I eat. I'm glad I'm normal with this. Lol
