I've made chicken paprikash a few times, but not since surgery.  You could always just eat the chicken and skip the carbs - or have it over cauliflower rice, I guess....

I survived family event with minimal snacking. Super Success!!! We had such a nice lazy day yesterday it was great. I really enjoyed it and my husband enjoyed tinkering with our IT set-up all day. Now back to this job.

QOTD: I'm still in the wow you look like a different person, you look great. You are doing such a good job. Which all annoy me a little because they don't know what a struggle it is. The only person that kills me is my Dad. He stays with us three nights a week and always has junky food and is always trying to give me some. I'm good at saying no, and mostly I wish he would stop because it can't be good for him either, but he has a ridiculous metabolism and is on his feet moving all day so he doesn't understand weight issues.

Time Since Surgery: 10 Months

B: Double Scoop Unjury shake

L: Leftover Beef Stew

S: Ham and Cheese Roll-up

D: Some kind of fish, whatever looks good at the market when hubs goes

S: Maybe another shake tonight, felling the need to beef up my protein

Morning folks! This was an expensive weekend for me-- lots of shopping- for me and the older kids who needed some stuff. I got great deals. Now I need to cool my heels on shopping until Black Friday.

QOTD- no I don't have people egging me on like that, mainly because I told only family about my surgery- and two [former] coworkers. I get quiet the opposite at work now- people view me as the healthy eater- so I'm left out when ordering lunch, indulgent foods- etc. They just say " we know Shauna won't eat that" and skip me. I like it like that :-) As far as family goes- only people I'm around regularly when I eat are my hubby and kids-- and they will be the one to say 'can you eat that, or 'are you sure you wanna eat that, you know what will happen'.

Good Morning! I am so grateful to be back to my normal routine, it was a long week.  Things are good, one thing last week helped me recognize was that I was dealing with some "menu fatigue" and want to do better about adding variety to my day-to-day eating.

I almost made turkey chili yesterday but opted to make spaghetti squash instead so may be next weekend.

QOTD: Yup, I have some food pushers here at work (doughnuts, chocolate, candy, and all that stuff) that say "treat yourself once in awhile".  No truer words spoken Daisy, maintenance is hard!

Time since surgery: 2 years, 2 months

B: SF latte, egg beaters with shredded cheese, 2 slices turkey bacon

L: Deli turkey, string cheese, boiled egg and carrots

S: SF latte, Carbmaster key lime pie yogurt, 100 calorie pack salt/pepper cashews

D: Spaghetti squash, grilled chicken breast, Alfredo sauce and mozzarella cheese

E: 45 mins stepper this morning and elliptical at lunch

V/W: On track

S - Unjury chicken soup flavored protein

D - Steak

Excersise - getting my 10k steps but we might be carving pumpkins tonight so maybe not.

I really haven't had much of a problem with that yet, I am only 10 weeks out, I see my mother every month or 2 and with her it's either you need to eat more or are you suppose to eat that?  I ignore her she is old!  I haven't eaten anything that I wasn't suppose to since I started this, but it's no use trying to explain to her...lol

Morning!  The weekend was lovely.  I stood up in a wedding party for two men who are dear friends.  Their wedding was just wonderful. The best part was when on of the grooms mother danced with her son for the first time and she had MOVES!  It was so fun to watch.  I danced with my 18 year old...the 19 yo and the 15yo wanted no part of mom dancing but my 18yo and I had a great time. The Guy and I slow danced and we decided to stay over night in San Antonio. We took the hotel shuttle the 1 1/2 miles to the Riverwalk.  Walked around the river and had dinner at a great Mexican place.  By the time we were done we had missed the last shuttle back to the hotel so I suggested we just walk back.  I thought the Guy was going to pass out by the time we got back to the hotel but I wasn't even tired. NSV.

Getting super nervous about my surgery on Wednesday.  Trying to focus on getting all my work ducks in order.  The Guy is going to be staying in the city for the next four weeks for training so I am going to be solo warrior during recovery. Hunting for friends to come help me is stressing me out but I am sure I will get it all worked out.

Side note: In San Antonio I had two Margaritas with my meal because...not driving and what the heck right?  I ended up having horrible leg and hand cramps that kept me up most of the night.  I did a little research and it turned out that alcohol causes the body to dump magnesium as it works to get the alcohol out of the system.  Basically alcoholics often have magnesium deficiency because of this.  I figured out that the only time I have bad cramps recently have been when I had a drink or two.  Seems like yet another reason to rarely have alcohol. And when I do have some...extra magnesium will need to be on board.

QOTD: I get people at work who want to watch me eat my lunch.  They are riveted by this for some reason.  They ask, "Can you eat all that?"  "Is that really enough food?" "Do you feel hungry still?" "Are you going to get sick?" "Do you want some pie?  Just a little won't hurt right?" "Oh...you can't eat doughnuts can you? You are too skinny for that." It is damn 20 questions time every lunch time. I often just eat at my desk to avoid the circus ring. LOL I know they are just dealing with their own crazy so I answer politely and move on.

Menu: B: Chobani Simply 100 "Crunch"; L: Salami and mozzarella knots; D: Dirty rice with Sausage (This is the family meal plan...not sure if I will have some, kinda fatty for me, depends on how I am feeling); S: Light & Fit Vanilla w/ 1/2 cup grapes

Hello Daisy!

QOTD: I think it might be too soon for me to answer this question, since aside from work i dont go out as much right now. I have 5 coworkers and they're all pretty thoughtful, though sometimes they'll forget (or try to keep up with manners) and ask if i wanted anything from Starbucks or wherever they're going for lunch. I was the baker in the office so that died with me, haha.

B: Premiere Protein shake

S: Cottage cheese with SF jam

L: Grilled chicken drumstick with 1/4 cup green beans (if room)

S: Syntrax Apple in water, 10 cashews

Your menu and mine are eerily similar ;)  How are you liking the Syntrax apple?  I was shocked to see the neon green color, and it tasted like a Jolly Rancher!
