Karen you look amazing in your new outfit! Purple is so your colour! And you hair looks fantastic!!
Enjoy your trip and the shootout!
Thank you so much for posting your before & after, is so important for the newbies and for the rest of us to be reminded (in my opinion) where we came from and you are so successful in your WLS journey. I do used to be afraid of colour, I would buy black or grey. And to this day I struggle to wear colour and when I do walk into a clothing store I automatically go to the black or grey clothes. This past weekend hubby and I went shopping and I got a burgundy turtle neck, a cream coloured sweater and a multicoloured patterned top that has white/pink/fushia in it, I would have never picked that out before surgery so I know exactly what you mean!
Your before & after is so amazing I don't even see "you" in the before... Congrats on your continued success!
Hope Lily is back to her regular self and all healed up! Enjoy your trip, be safe

Morning everyone!
went to a paint nite last night with a cousin. They are so fun. I like seeing that more and more men are starting to attend as well!
Qotd: nope! I wearwhatever I want or thought looked good. (Within the obvious limitation of plus size offerings) I buy clothes that fit properly. And when I cant I buy what fit the biggest part of me and pay to get it altered. I.e. Usually that meant having straps shortened, darts under the arms. (And don't get me wrong, I'm not into fashion, just into dressing for your body)
I don't know why it stuck, but being in a locker room in high school hearing average and skinny girls feel bad about body parts, or refusing to wear swim suits, made me feel bad for them instead of me, like I couldn't understand how they'd miss out on stuff because they were self conscious about a body part.
Because spoiler alert!: wearing long sleeves doesn't make your arms look smaller. Baggy clothes don't hide a belly. Kills me to see men and women in clothes two sizes too big. Wear clothes that fit, and I guarantee you will feel better. /end rant hahahahah
menu:
b:protein shake
L: tuna and some kind of veggie
D: ugh I didn't get to the grocery store yesterday, so that def. needs to happen.
calories under 500, protein 60. ( I don't track fat really, other than fitting it into my overall calories. Should I at this point?)
have a great day!

I am hearing more and more of these painting sessions coming up, that is really cool. Good for you for not shying away from clothes or what you wanted to wear, that is awesome. My sister's best girlfriend is like that too, this lady is very SMO and she has a very very good job and she makes a lot of money and she spends a lot of money on high end clothes even though she is a very large woman, she wants to look good and she does, as you said "dress for your body". In theory I agree with that I will be honest when I was MO I didn't do it though.
I will tell you that even though I can wear clothes right off the rack and I can pretty much fit into anything I struggle with "wear clothes that fit" I still want to wear baggy tops to hide my belly and long sleeves to hide arms, I am that woman you love to hate, I preferred the "tent" like clothing versus dressing for my size and its a struggle for me even now 3 yrs post op to "dress for my size" Well I am working on it though!
As for tracking fat, I track it in MFP because I need to know how much I an eating and its usually really low and I know that I need to get it higher because for me the higher it is the better I go to the bathroom and my skin & hair is not as dry. So track it if you want but not to keep it low, if that makes sense.
