Good Morning! It's so overwhelming to jump on the thread so much later than I normally do and see 70 posts already! My schedule is all off since I am in a different office and working at 8a and relying on someone else to bring me in and they don't arrive early LOL. I will have to play catch up and read the thread later.

Hi folks!

QOTD: Does my hubby support me? When I told him I was looking onto surgery- he asked me why- I forget what I said in response- but I guess it stilled his mind cause he has never spoken anything negative/in opposition about it. I would in no way call him my cheerleader-- but he was there through the surgery/recovery etc. He leaves the rest up to me to manage and I don;t kill him with details. I tell him the important things- like what he'd needs to tell the ER if there was an emergency, or if a level is dipping in blood work.

17 month post op

Isn't it great when the waist hits 30-something!!!!!

Now I'm trying to navigate the jean sizes that are like 32/31... so, um... I can't find a 38 (that's my last waist size, I think), but I have a friend only 10 lbs lighter than me, and 2 inches shorter who claims she wears something like a 29... I KNOW she doesn't have a 29" waist!

Sigh... so much simpler when they say things like 8,10,12,14.....

Try on the smaller size jeans.  They do not necessarily correspond to your waist size.  No way you are a 38, unless you are talking European sizes.

Good morning Daisy and everyone on this fine, sunny day in Portland.  I am currently in a Quality Committee meeting.  The room is full of people, but I am sitting against the wall, so I am hoping I am being discreet.  It was am 8:00 meeting, and I lost track of time and ended up running out of the house without packing any food for today, so my menu is totally up in the air.  I had my usual Egg Beater, mozzarella and bacon omelette for breakfast, and a hard boiled egg and some fruit for a snack.  I have no idea what I will have for lunch, and I have a Board Committee meeting after work, so dinner is an unknown too.

I do have trees in my yard, primarily Japanese Maples, so they are not big.  I have a service that takes care of my yard, so no leaf raking for me.  I get to make supportive comments and then go back in the house.

QOTD:  I do not have a SO, so no issue there.  My family and friends have been super supportive, and I have never had any negative comments.  When I told my family, it was clear that my Dad was concerned, but he did not express it to me, and has always been positive in his comments.  All of my friends have been amazing, and aside from a little good natured teasing from some of the guys about how little I eat, they have all accepted my new normal without comment.

Have a great day everyone, and don't throw anything at the TV tonight during the final (thank God) debate.  For those of you from Canada, be grateful.

I can't decide if I want to watch this debate or not... the only reason I am curious is because they are having some news guy from FOX news as the commentator... I've never watched FOX for more than a few seconds if I've been somewhere where it's on... I do not know of these news dudes, and I'm curious to see how Hilary handles them... but I already know how Trump will.

I have a meeting, so will likely miss it.  In the event that the meeting gets out early, I will likely opt to hit myself repeatedly in the head with a rock since it will be much less painful then watching the debate.

I don't think I can watch, the last one was too awful.

Good morning all!  I will have to say that when I had my first WLS in 2007, my (now) ex-husband was not very supportive.  He actually used his typical passive-aggressive stuff to get me to have lap band surgery instead of RNY like I wanted.  Prior to that surgery, anytime I tried (and sometimes succeeded briefly) to lose weight he would sabotage me by telling me that if I lost weight he feared I would find someone else and leave him.  I eventually found myself and left him!  I don't currently have a DH or SO, but I do have family.  They are supportive in their own way, but some still just don't get it.  My parents still ask me what I want to drink every time we have a meal together.  Like Daisy above, I repeat that I don't drink with my meals and hope they catch on at some point.  It's a process for everyone :)
