What's on your Menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
The last few years I've been having more and more wild turkeys around here. I had a flock in my backyard last winter.
6'3" tall, male.
Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.
M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.
I almost hit one last week. After I screeched to a halt and started driving again, the damn thing took off running down the road beside my car like a freaking velociraptor. Then it flew away.
I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

I agree with you about talking to your daughter! I was hounded about everything I put in my mouth as a small child, right up through adulthood by my Mother, and it only make me eat MORE just to be defiant! It also made me a closet binger, which I still have trouble with!
Hi Daisy and menu peeps,
I am trying to get back into posting more often, and not just reading, so hopefully I will be around more often. It's mass chaos in my house right now - some construction men are drilling in the kitchen and some cleaning people are here cleaning, and I am listening on a two hour work call. Good thing I can multi-task!
Now that I live in a townhouse with my boyfriend, they send someone around to handle leaves - no outdoor work for this gal!
I have been SO lucky to have unyielding support from everyone about my RNY. My mom came to stay with me for a week when I had surgery, and all of my friends and coworkers and family want me to be healthy and happy. I didn't hear a single negative comment. My boyfriend has only known me normal-sized, and he loves to work out and eat protein forward, so he doesn't think my way of life is very different. He eats a little more than me, but not much! Which is depressing, but we are around the same weight so I guess it makes sense. He eats a protein bar every single day for breakfast and has a protein shake after he works out. So I don't seem very odd to him at all :) The biggest thing is that sometimes he thinks I am too friendly or get walked all over, and he says things like, "You know you're not fat anymore, and you don't need to take that crap". Could be some truth to it, but old habits die hard...
Time since surgery: 3 years in December!
B: Coffee with half and half, crab dip on crackers (Costco, how I love thee)
L: Salad with lettuce, snow peas, mini cucumbers, olives, honey turkey, pepper jack cheese
D: Crockpot meal of pulled chicken in a bbq-type sauce with red onions, a little baked sweet potato, homemade coleslaw
S: Depends what time we work out!
E: Elliptical for 45 minutes
Have a wonderful day, everyone!
I have always let people use me as a door mat, and even now with a little more self confidence, I will allow it! ugh We are constant works in progress!
I am so glad that you found someone who supports you, and it must be nice that you don't feel like your way of eating / living isnt much different than his!
