Good morning! Currently sitting at the Amtrak station waiting, hopeful that I get a good seat with a table so I can work comfortably while I travel :)
QOTD: I do think it's a good idea to lose the extra weight if you can while you can.
Not posting a menu today since I'm traveling and don't know what the agenda will be all day. I have had my morning latte and packed a P3 pack for breakfast and of course a few protein bars are in my purse for lunch or a snack as needed. I got in my 6 miles in on the treadmill this morning and plan to use the elliptical at the hotel tonight.
Hope you all have a great day!
Good morning Daisy and menu gang, It is so windy here today. Good thing it's not a cold wind though.
QOTD :Like others have said I'm going to try and get down as low as I can.I had my surgery June 6th and as the weeks go by and the scale goes down I'm starting to feel better about myself. I've lost 71 lbs and I'm getting a bounce in my step. I'm wanting to take care of myself, put makeup on. My inner voice is being much kinder. I'm realizing or finally believing that I'm worth it and hey there's no reason why I can't be the thin woman in the room.
Menu
B Protein drink with PB2
L 1 poached egg 2 slices of bacon
D 2 oz of ground chicken riced cauliflower with marinara sauce
S 3 /4 cup of plain Greek yogurt
Totals 573 cals 79 grams of protein.
Have a wonderful day.
Morning DD2. Tell Arun I'm sorry about the Jays. But Cleveland is playing crazy good right now. The kicked the snot out of the Sox before the Jays. They look unstoppable.
As for your QOTD:
QOTD: Do you agree that you should lose 10 or more pounds below your lowest weight for "bounce back?" My Centre was happy if I had of got to a weight of 150 lbs. I was comfortable in my mind at 130-135 lbs. I got down to 125 lbs and that was just where my body stopped not that I tried to get to 125 lbs. I do fluctuate anywhere between 125 - 130 depending on if I treat myself or not and I am okay with that. I do agree that a lot of people get "bounce back" but not because your body suddenly says "hey let's gain 10-20 lbs" I think it's because we get lax/lazy with our eating/logging/weighing and measuring. The weight comes off so fast in the beginning and we work out butts off to maximize the "honeymoon" period and then when the weight lose phase is done, we let either old habits creep back in or we figure "hey I got to my goal weight, I can eat that XXXX (whatever is your guilty pleasure)." You start to increase your portions, you start to "treat" yourself more often, you socialize more and so you eat off plan. So in my opinion bounce back is "real" yes but not because your body does it all on its own its because you go off plan and stop doing the "rules". This is why sticking to the "rules" is so important for life, not just during the weight loss phase, but forever.
I agree completely. Regain is entirely in our control. One of the great things about WLS is the control it gives me that I never had before. It's like driving a car. Step on the gas and go faster. Step on the brake, slow down. Eat more calories, gain weight. Eat less and lose.
My surgeon set a goal of 250 for me. I set a goal of 225, because that was the last time I looked and felt good. I've been sitting at 190 to 195 for over 3 years now. It's nice to feel like I'm in the driver's seat again. But I'm always looking for potholes, and getting rwady in case that bus tries to force me off the road.
Hey look. I'm rush hour Daisy.

Good morning Daisy and Menu crew. Rough night last night, my dog was sick. Her ears were bothering her all evening, she passed a sock and a pair of DW panties and threw up all night long, she seems fine now. I am running on 90 minutes sleep - 6 am to 7:30 am. My folks are staying with us a few days before they head south and are keeping an eye on her, she is fine now.
QOTD - this was tricky for me as I wanted to be below the normal BMI range. ( BMI still drives me crazy though I am getting better about it) I got as low as 178 pounds and was really skinny for my height, I looked skinny, awkward, not healthy. I have found a sweet spot of 188-192 pounds , wear the same size clothes as I did when I was at 178 pounds and all of my bloodwork and health remains good. I will see a spike if I do not drink enough water, do not journal or measure my portions, I have become a creature of habit and is not a bad thing. I eat for a purpose and am not driven by food as preop Mike was.
B- protein bar
S - Caramel apple pie greek yogurt
L - Manwich meat
S - Buddig Ham & cheese stick
D - Unsure at this time - believe I will have grilled chicken
Exercise - going to the gym tonight
stay healthy my friends, Mike
Hello and good morning, dreary day here but the beautiful fall colors help brighten things up!
QOTD: Not sure. I had a plan with the band 10 years ago. Lose to 140 lbs. and have plastics for my 50th birthday. I'm now 57 with a clotting disorder that makes more surgery dicey. I don't want to look like a pile of melted wax, so my tentative goal is 175. This was a good weight for me before I blew up after a hysterectomy. Obesity has been a problem for me for only the past 20 years. Anyway, we'll see how things go.

Happy Tuesday. I did much better with my snacking yesterday. Way less candy, just an okay snack not much protein but some, but right now just aiming to knock out the candy.
Time since surgery: 10 months
B: Double Scoop Unjury Shake
S: Turkey and Swiss roll up
L: Shrimp and Penne Pasta (will not eat most of the pasta, focus on all the shrimp first)
D: Cheeseburger no bun
S: if needed some cheese
Edited to respond to QOTD: My PA at the surgery center and I agreed upon 145, which I'm fluctuating close too, I would like to get a little below that. I will lose some with stomach surgery hopefully. But I think 145 will be my happy place for the future. I've been as low as 135 before surgery and I didn't like the way it looked on me. but we will see what the future brings. I just want to stay in a place where I can be active and happy with my family.

Last night when I got "snacky" I thought of you all and I made myself a sugar free oatmeal packet. I was done with the snacking and happy until bed. Was only 100 calories and was super filling. I'm thinking I will keep trying that if I hear the evening call of the pantry.
