I know the waiting sucks. BUT please trust me that it is all worth it. I knew a girl who used to be on the boards when I first joined, she went through TWH and she was unemployed and she used to call daily to TWH to get all the cancellation appts and she was able to fast track her surgery and do the whole program in 4 months. Guess what she was not prepared, she only lost about 40 lbs, got pregnant, moved away and put all her weight back on plus more. Fast tracking is not always the best thing. There is soooo much to take in, to learn, to understand with this process and I think a year is appropriate, but that's just me. So I had my referral sent in October 2012 and had surgery November 2013 so 13 months. You can call weekly or daily if you have the time to TWH and get cancellations if you want to speed it up but just take caution.
If you work the plan and follow the rules you will easily get below 170 or 150, no problem.
Good luck, I know its hard to wait. But now is the time to start practicing all the "rules" you will have to follow post op and see how you do.

Thanks. I've actually done very well with fast tracking my appointments. I had orientation in April and the last appointment before meeting the surgeon in September so 5 months. I know the time will pass quickly but patience is definitely not a virtue of mine. ? My timeline should not be too much longer than yours. A lot of people who have just seen the surgeon in the last week or 2 are getting dates of Feb and march. They're no longer using other hospitals so apparently there was a delay while they figured all of that out.
I'm working on the good habits. I really don't want to be as successful as I can.
RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
QOTD: losing extra to allow bounce back... Yea...
My body followed that...I was losing..wanted to stop but everyone adviced me to get lower. I did ..and I had a hard time to stop losing. I got too thin, my body fat % dropped and I neither felt good or looked healthy.
The feeling bad was an issue. I was weak and had a problem maintaining my BS... So I gave myself permission to eat anything I could tolerate to gain some weight... But then I could not stop gaining...
I wanted to gain 10 lbs but ended up with 20-25 lbs gain. Then it was hard to relose it.
In retrospect - I wished I stoped losing or rather try to learn to maintain when I reached the weight and size that was good for me. (that was lower than I was expected to be before I started the RNY)
Some people lose and maintain. Sometimes losing too much may give you a false sense of security " I can allow some weight gain - so I can eat some foods off the regular menu..."
I think when we start being ok with seeing the scale going up...we may start ignoring it... That's how I regained 25 and not my planned 10...
A few months ago I got back to my original goal...and since in was in a losing mode..part of me wanted to keep losing...but the adult part of me decided to maintain. I picked a range of 5 lbs..my body weight can fluctuate within 5 lbs in every 2-3 days. Then there is the weekly average that I try to maintain within 2 lbs. And when I see the average weight creeping up - I adjust my eating..
Btw- the weight can be misleading. I am heavy for me height. BBut to make sure I am where I suppose to be - I had body DEXA scan to determine how much fat I have left on my body.
I am in a good "fit" range for a woman, and in "lean" range when adjusted for my age.
Not only I should not lose more - but to allow for any illness - I probably will be ok to gain 3-4 lbs of fat. That would still put me in a "fit" range.

Good Morning Everyone!
QOTD: Yes, I will definitely want to go lower than my goal weight. I set my own goal weight and I set it rather high, so I want to go 10 or 20 lbs. lower anyway. I hope to avoid any bounce back weight gain, but from what you all are saying it's a definite possibility.
My menu for today:
B: crepe w/ peach, cream cheese, cool whip
L: lettuce, spinach, tomato, chicken, cheese, dried cranberries, low cal dressing
D: chili cheese dog
S: Watermelon
S: Light 'n Fit strawberry cheesecake yogurt
Exercise: Walking the dogs
Have a SUPER day everyone!

QOTD: Ok, I set my goal at 160 lbs because 10 years ago when I went to the Quick Weighloss Center I got down to 159 and was a comfortable size 10 at 5'6. My surgeon actually said I should aim for 175-180 and that made me angry. He said because i am active and a bit muscular so I would be heavier. I am going to keep losing until my body stops and I hope it stops around 140- 145 lbs.
B - Protein shake
L - Baked pork chop & collard greens
S - Cheese stick
D - Pesto Chicken thighs (That's what was supposed to be for dinner last night but the chicken wasn't thawed)
S - sf popsicle
Liquids - on track
Exercise - getting my 10k steps
Sleeved 8/1/16

Hi there everyone! Today it's going to be in the lower 80's here, as opposed to almost 90 yesterday. We're creeping down this week, but another heat wave for the weekend. It's hard when you have been buying fall/winter clothes, and everyone else is in capris and shorts! I broke down and bought a pair of capris at Goodwill yesterday. That should ensure cold weather sooner! LOL
QOTD: At only 5 months out, I haven't gotten close enough to the goal number I set for myself at the beginning of all of this to even know where I want to be. So I'm enjoying reading all of the answers and kind of reflecting on where I'll be in another 6 months to a year. I love this though, it gives me lots of insight into other people's journey's. Thanks for asking this DD2!
B: 2.7 oz of marinated fajita meat
L: 3 oz of cheese stuffed chicken breast
S: I have the Syntrax from yesteday that I never drank, and 1 serving of beef jerky that I may or may not snack on (I only do about 1/4 of a serving)
D: leftover pork tenderloin that I didn't eat last night (I had leftover fajita meat instead LOL)
Weight 178.4
So I'm wearing a shirt today that is shorter than most shirts I've worn in a long time. I have on a belt with my jeans, and if I lift up my arms you can see my belt. I'm very self conscious today! I mean I looked in the mirror, and thought it looked great, but it's like I feel like a fat girl trying to dress like a skinny girl... Ugh!

I know!!! I stole the belt from Hubby's side of the closet on Sunday... first belt to go around me in a LONG long time! Of course, on Sunday, I had on a longer shirt, and the belt was there to actually hold up these pants, which are good on me except in the waist at the moment.
Today, I'm wearing it, knowing, at times it's visible... a visible belt??!
Tucking???! Girl... I haven't tucked in years... (and I secretly can't wait!)
