Maintenance is hard, and anyone who says its easy is lying! ha ha
Fingers crossed you do get below goal, even if it takes you longer, you can do it Melissa!
QOTD: I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing until my body decides to stop. I've already decided that I'm never going to let myself go above 170 if it kills me....
16 months
B: L&F coconut vanilla yogurt with added protein powder, 5 strawberries, 1 T Kashi Crunch granola
S: coffee with half & half, protein shake
L: maybe cottage cheese and baby carrots?
D: chili
probably another Greek yogurt or the last Outshine Peach Yogurt bar (my stepmother hates them, and her daughter left two in the freezer - had the first one yesterday)
I think I might head back home to Wisconsin early next week unless my dad's health takes a turn for the worst. I'm getting "vacation fatigue" big time. I miss my husband, my cats, and my routine. In some ways I feel like i should stay here longer because it may be the last time I see my dad, but then again, he could be around a couple more months. So hard to know what to do...
That must be so hard to deal with... I understand both sides, and completely think whichever way you decide to go is the best decision. My thoughts are with you though! Hang in there

I do think our bodies will stop when they are ready to stop.
I am sure you are getting "caregiver" fatigue big time, you have taken a lot on, and you are awesome for doing that for your Dad. I don't know your cir****tances but I do think it would be healthy to go back home for a bit, be with your family and "routine". Take care of you as well my friend.
I haven't been on here for a bit- feeling like I was (am) going crazy with the waiting game that is weight loss surgery here in Ontario. Plus it's been crazy at work. But today, I thought I'd pop in and check out this thread at least. :):) Someone posted in the Ontario forum that they just got their date for surgery- and it was March 3rd. I won't even see the surgeon until November 25th so that likely means a May date. Needless to say, I'm feeling a bit discouraged. Just need to keep reminding myself that it is worth the wait.
As far as weightloss goes, I'm 5 ft 3, when I met the dietician, she asked for a goal weight- I said 150 - which I think is high as I have a small frame- she disagreed and thought 170 would be better. But my plan is to lose until I stop.
I had a fried egg and bacon for breakfast, leftover butter chicken for lunch. Not sure what else.
Have a great day!
RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
Ugh, the waiting game is the worst! Hang in there! And I feel grateful that my NUT didn't throw any numbers my way... while I have a goal number, it was mine to choose. Try to forget her words, and don't let yourself settle there if you're not happy just because she pulled a number from some statistical sheet sitting in front of her!

I guess it might depend on the clinic you go to. But in Ottawa, by the time I met the surgeon for consent, the surgery was less than 6 weeks later. From the time of my first apt at the clinic, to surgery, was 8 months.
All that to say, it takes time, but there's a lot to work on before surgery, and I'm glad I didn't wait to deal with it all post op. Things like cutting carbs and sugar, and alcohol. Journaling, figuring out if you're a binger or stress eater etc.
theres still tons you can be doing while you wait. The more habits you change the smoother the transition post op. And the faster the time will pass.
Keep in mind I'm only closing in on six weeks post op, haha so I'm beyond newbie!
